Hi Julie Ann, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The first encounter I had with Reiki healing was when I was living in NYC and researched holistic ways to treat the incredibly painful TMJ that developed in my jaw from stress. After a few weeks of receiving treatment, the TMJ was completely gone! From then on, I was on a mission to learn as much as I possibly could about Reiki and in what other ways it could benefit my life. At that time, I was planning on relocating to Los Angeles and wanted to continue receiving Reiki treatments, so I discovered a Reiki Master in Santa Monica and learned that anyone can become a channel for the healing energy if they have the desire to learn. When receiving Reiki treatments from the Reiki Master, I had very profound visions (with my eyes closed) and knew that learning Reiki healing was part of my life path.
After becoming certified, I opened Chakra To Ya in 2016, and since then, I feel incredibly grateful to have not only helped others on their healing and spiritual journeys but created a full suite of Reiki certifications, healing workshops, guided meditations, and other helpful resources for people around the world. Chakra To Ya became increasingly popular during the pandemic and now certifies approximately 300 new Reiki practitioners a year, in 32 countries, with self-paced Reiki certification programs and online workshops. Each program was created with love and entirely on my own. From taping myself on camera to editing the film footage and creating all the content (guidebooks, video tutorials, slides, quizzes, handouts, graphics), it was truly a divinely guided labor of love!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Anyone who has started their own business will know that it can feel like you’re on a rollercoaster ride! There are moments when you feel like you’re flying high, and there are times when your present situation can feel really low, but no matter what, it’s all a learning experience that is part of the journey of being an entrepreneur. I think one of the most challenging things when first starting Chakra To Ya was doing my best to get noticed and get into a flow of becoming established with absolutely no budget.
As you know, we’re big fans of Chakra To Ya. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I’m an energy & intuitive healer with a Mastery in multiple energy healing techniques, including Usui Reiki and Reiki Tummo, channeling energy. Other energy healing techniques include Norri, Beyonders, and psychic healing. In an energy healing session, I assist in bringing healing to the aura, chakras, and systems of the body, as well as harmonizing the aspects of self and inner trinities, such as the mind, body & spirit.
As an intuitive healer, I provide guidance by working closely with Angels and channeling messages during either oracle card or Reiki healing sessions. I feel that my connection with Spirit is what makes me unique and being a medium to channel healing energy and messages to help others is part of my life purpose with the mission of also helping others remember why they are here, how powerful they are, and guiding them to discover their own unique spiritual gifts.
Reiki is an effective way to help reduce stress, increase relaxation, improve sleep, restore inner peace and harmony, balance the mind, body, and spirit, reduce pain, balance and stimulate the various systems of the body, naturally flush toxins from the body, increase in focus and energy, elevate mood, reduction of inflammation, and assist in being more grounded and present. In my practice, I am able to work 1-1 with clients either over Zoom, 1-1 in person, or with large groups of people such as at healing events, sound baths, during meditations, yoga, or even facilitating clearing and blessing a home or business with Reiki energy.
When I first started Chakra To Ya, my intention was to create a supportive, spiritual community and a pathway to self-discovery, which I feel is what it has become. Chakra To Ya offers many helpful resources, from weekly blog articles and collective angel card readings to workshops and certifications; there is something for everybody on the website and online store, no matter if they’re just starting their spiritual journey or they’re further down the path.
As a Reiki Master Teacher, my approach to teaching Reiki is rooted in science, specifically quantum mechanics and research studies, which is one of the reasons why I believe Chakra To Ya is most well-known for the Reiki certifications for levels 1 through Reiki Master Teacher. Each Reiki certification is offered as a self-paced online program, webinar, or in-person. Another popular certification is called the Oracle Card Academy, which is a self-paced online program to learn how to read Oracle cards and develop your intuition. Popular workshops include Stress Relief and Healing The Inner Child. As of late 2022, Chakra To Ya launched a series of guided meditations, which incorporate remote Reiki and Solfeggio frequencies to call in abundance, with several others designed specifically for the chakras. My other areas of expertise include being a certified crystal healer, sound healer, and hypnotherapist. Aside from spiritual education pursuits, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and public relations.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
There is a famous quote by Tao Te Ching that says, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. When the student is truly ready… The teacher will Disappear.” I stand behind this quote because I believe in serendipity and that the Universe will attract what is needed at exactly the perfect time. For example, looping back to when I first embarked on my own spiritual journey discovering the Reiki healer in NYC to help me overcome TMJ, which then sparked my curiosity to learn more and seek out additional resources and teachers. I have found that clients who come to me for Reiki sessions or card readings are going through something I have overcome in my own life, and having that experience I’m able to provide guidance to assist them on their own journey. I also encourage my students to seek out other mentors as well! In my own life, I’ve had between three to four mentors at a time who specialize in different areas of healing. I believe having several mentors gives you a chance to not only become well-rounded but the ability to see things from multiple perspectives. I owe so much of what I have learned from having multiple mentors, which has been incredibly expansive for me on both personal and spiritual levels.
