Inspiring Conversations with Jose Pineda of Video Cartel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Pineda.

Hi Jose, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started in this business almost 6 years ago, but it wasn’t until recently that I decided to pivot in this industry.

I first got into videography and editing because I was a little (or very) broke and I needed to make money. I learned how to edit from YouTube, we like to call it YouTube University. I started within the fitness industry, filming and editing for many fitness gurus, mainly local gym people that made fitness their career and they wanted to document their fitness journey and eventually promote their business.

That turned into connecting with other people in various different industries and started building relationships with people from all walks of life.

Fitness videos turned into filming for real estate agents, radio personalities, financial advisors, nonprofit organizations, weddings, Sweet 16s, bar and restaurants, car dealerships… you name it, I’ve filmed it.

Recently, I started adding digital marketing services to my video production business. I now offer digital ads, email marketing, graphic design, website development, SEO, press releases, etc. I’ve been able to grow from just video production to a full-blown marketing agency. Our goal is to become a community-driven media company who just so happens to sell products and services.

In another year or so, we will become a public relations agency and we’ll be one of the top brand-managing firms in the Inland Empire. Hopefully, Los Angeles.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. My biggest obstacle is finding help. You would think it’s the other way and that there might not be enough work, but my difficulty has not been finding clients, it’s actually finding reliable people to help me manage these clients.

As you know, we’re big fans of Video Cartel. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Video Cartel stared creating promo videos for small businesses and personal brands, although we still work with businesses like theLender and Jose’s Mexican Food, we are also working closely with personal brands like Mauricio Capetillo, Bryan Casella, and Mark Miller.

We have shifted our focus to becoming a brand management firm or better known as Public Relations Firm.

We have worked with top brands like BMW of Riverside and Realtor.com, we choose to help manage personal brands. Along with our videography skills and marketing resources, we are confident we can help a personal brand reach a wider audience online.

There are many other video production companies out there in LA and the IE, but what sets us apart is the ability to offer more than just videography and editing. We offer a full business solution through our video production abilities.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
I like to say that we don’t just offer videography and editing services. We offer solutions.

We have the systems and processes to help almost any business. Videography is just our bread and butter, but we have evolved to so much more.
