Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Mercedes.
Hi Jordan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Modeling has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember because the lifestyle was actually passed down from my mother. Once I got into my teenage years I had the opportunity to compete in different beauty pageants that allowed me to travel to different parts of the world. Shortly after, I got accepted into college and knew competing was over for me well, at least for now. I then contemplated on how I was going to be able to hold on to this lifestyle of making money and traveling while doing what I love; that is when I created Model Up Next 401. Five years later, we are still changing lives in our community one program season at a time.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road is never smooth. At least not the one worth traveling! Model Up Next is fortune enough to have not had any major challenges, but I promise every season has a number of obstacles. Our program is put in place to teach, but while our students are developing their talents, we as an organization are learning and growing alongside them.
We’ve been impressed with Model Up Next 401, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Model Up Next 401 is a talent development organization put in place to create a well-rounded modeling experience for its students. The program provides tools and learning experiences that have to be applied by the model to his/her career. We specialize in building confident, fierce, and successful models.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
The number one thing you need to remember when first starting out is to just believe in yourself. The reason you are starting is because you have already sparked a level of potential the last step is just believe. When you first start not too many people support or believe in your same dreams but always remember those are your dreams, not theirs!
