Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Ching.
Hi Jordan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I became infatuated with the camera while studying abroad in Beijing, China. My best friend and business partner told me I took good pictures and introduced me to the creative world. We worked on a music video together and I fell in love… I loved being on set and everything to do with production. The concept of taking an idea and turning it into a reality intrigued me. We are now on our second company, Flipbird Films, and my love for production has evolved into a love for film and storytelling. (Lots of love in what we do! Haha). Currently, we are working on our first feature documentary set in Cuba that I am super excited about.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Building something from nothing is never easy. There is no road map or path to follow, lots of trial and error and figuring it out as you go. Sometimes it is hard to close a deal. Other times its a creative brain drain. Building a business while developing creatively will always be an ongoing process for me, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
As you know, we’re big fans of Flipbird Films. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a boutique video production agency dedicated to the craft of storytelling. Our crew is made up of artists, strategists, designers, writers, and film nerds who love to mix mediums and push creative boundaries. One of our superpowers is the ability to mix strategy with storytelling and design to create unique concepts for our clients. We believe that a well-told story can touch hearts and open minds. Shoot, maybe even inspire some people!
I am most proud that our brand comes entirely from us. From our website to our logo, we design and craft everything ourselves. Our brand is an extension of how we approach working with our clients. We ideate, conceptualize and execute everything from beginning to end. We love working with individuals, companies, and organizations that are innovative and impact-driven; so for anyone reading that needs their story told in a unique and engaging way, let us know!
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I love everything film and production, but I am also working on a personal project with a friend that I am super excited about! We are building a multi-verse and creating a graphic novel. It’s been an incredible process and can’t wait to share it once we are done!
