Inspiring Conversations with Jenna Greene of Forward Collective

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Greene.

Jenna Greene

Hi Jenna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thank you for having me VoyageLA! It’s great to chat with you. A little bit about me… well I live in LA. I went to USC and have stayed in the city since I graduated. I travel quite a bit for work and spend time in NYC as well. I’m an entrepreneur and social impact strategist. I work at the intersection of entertainment, business and philanthropy. I love advising talent and companies on their philanthropic and social impact initiatives.

I started my own business Forward Collective (FWD) ®  in 2017 and am proud of the work we’ve accomplished over the years. I love my dog, checking new countries off my bucket list, bookstores, reading and boxing! That’s a few things about me in a nutshell.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The world can be hard to navigate. Especially in the times we live in right now. In terms of work, being an entrepreneur can be challenging but it is also incredibly rewarding. Entrepreneurs tend to have so much passion, emotion and drive for what they believe in but that can also be exhausting. Learning to pace yourself is important. I’m still figuring out how to do that but it is a lesson I want to get better at following.

And when challenges come up in life whether work or personal, a lesson that I’ve learned is to surround yourself with people that love you and you love back.

As you know, we’re big fans of Forward Collective. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Forward Collective (FWD) ® is a creative impact agency. We work at the intersection of philanthropy, entertainment, and business to design brand initiatives and strategic partnerships that lead to consumer engagement, revenue generation, community building, and impact.

For brands/companies: We figure out what’s important to the DNA of the business, employees and/or of interest to a suite of portfolio companies. We identify and recruit the right partners and build social impact plans that can be implemented both internally and externally and across different verticals of the business. We also curate employee engagement opportunities and meaningful volunteer experiences.

For nonprofits: We bring the mission and the work of the organization into the zeitgeist of now. Develop and execute entertainment, brand and talent partnerships. And, advise on communication and storytelling opportunities that will bring more awareness to the cause.

For talent: We love to help artists, talent, athletes and individuals in the public eye identify what is important to them. Help them navigate the impact space, figure out what nonprofits or philanthropic endeavors make sense for their brand and platform and run campaigns that may be associated with these efforts.

I’m so proud of the work that we have done and continue to do with our clients, collaborators, and partners to create meaningful change and truly impact people’s lives. I get to work with incredibly talented leaders, creatives, and cross-functional teams. It’s an honor, fun and inspiring.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Stay true to yourself. Trust your gut. Even when you want to second guess yourself try to stay balanced and listen to what your mind or body is trying to tell you. Have a point of view but always, always be a student of your craft.
