Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaac Lekach
Hi Isaac, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I learned everything from my father. He built two different fragrance companies: Perfumania, a discount perfumery chain, and Parlux Fragrances, which operates on the licensing model and manufactures, markets, and distributes fragrances for brands and celebrities. I got my start in the industry working for him. I brought in Paris Hilton and designed her first fragrance collection. I worked on a few different brands like Guess Jeans and Perry Ellis. From there I made fragrances for Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, and Adam Levine. Now I run Flower Shop Perfumes Co. with my wife, Lillian Shalom, under which we have released Portals Parfums by Melanie Martinez and L’eau de Parfum, the debut fragrance by Cirque du Soleil.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While I’m, of course, grateful for the successes we’ve had—it has not been without our fair share of struggles. It would be ungentlemanly of me to elaborate, but suffice it to say, we take our licks and keep on going.
We’ve been impressed with Flower Shop Perfumes Co., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Flower Shop is a boutique fragrance company. We manufacture, market, and distribute fragrance collections (and fragrance-related items) in partnership with leading brands and celebrities. Currently, we make Portals Parfums by Melanie Martinez and L’eau de Parfum, the debut fragrance, by Cirque du Soleil. Our pride lies in crafting distinct projects with unparalleled design and creativity.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
