Inspiring Conversations with Frances E. Arroyo of Los Angeles Legal Advocates

Today we’d like to introduce you to Frances E. Arroyo.

Frances E. Arroyo

Hi Frances, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I am a native of Puerto Rico and moved to Washington, DC, to pursue my undergraduate studies at American University. While studying and working at restaurants, I met so many undocumented immigrants that had immigration legal needs, including finding relatives taken by ICE. I decided to pursue immigration law as a career. Being a Latina in the law of humble beginnings, the journey was not easy. There was never equal pay for equal work, and I lost my job twice for being pregnant with my daughters, once in 2016 and the second time in 2019, different jobs, both male employers. In 2020, while pregnant with my second child and during a global pandemic, I started Los Angeles Legal Advocates.

I decided I would never work again for anyone except myself; it would be the ideal workplace- inclusive and understanding of employees’ needs. I also decided that the level of representation at my firm would be at the expert level. I became a Board-Certified Immigration Expert- to bring the highest quality of representation to the most underserved community in Los Angeles and its neighboring locations. In a short three years, our firm grew to 80+ employees and expanded nationwide.

We are the leading Immigration Firm in the nation.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
