From Beirut to Orange County: Journey of Reinvention
Beirut, Lebanon – My name is Emily Milan my life was a tapestry woven with the rich history and vibrant culture of my hometown. I Studied International Business and Economics, I have always been driven by a passion for understanding the global marketplace. However, life took an unexpected turn three years ago, forcing me to make one of the most challenging decisions of my life.
Faced with Lebanon’s economic turmoil and a pressing need for change, I embarked on a monumental journey to the United States. Moving to Orange County was more than just a change of scenery; it was an entirely new chapter fraught with the complexities of starting from scratch in a foreign land.
“I felt like I was stepping into a new world, Everything was different—the culture, the people, and even the smallest details of daily life. But I was determined to make the most of this fresh start.
With a steely resolve and an entrepreneurial spirit, I set about creating a life in My new home. and because I believe that LIFE IS NOW and driven by my love for celebrations and a desire to bring joy to others, I launched a Photo Booth 360 business. This venture quickly became a manifestation of my meticulous organization, strong interpersonal skills, and unwavering dedication.
The Photo Booth 360, under my stewardship, is more than just a business; it’s a “pause button” for celebrating life’s moments. Each event becomes a canvas for happiness as guests interact with the booth, capturing memories that will last a lifetime. For me, witnessing the joy and excitement that my business brings is profoundly rewarding. “There’s nothing quite like seeing people light up when they’re having fun, The smiles and laughter are what drive me.
Yet, my talents and ambitions don’t end with my photo booth venture. I also delves into the world of construction and remodeling, transforming spaces and bringing new visions to life. On top of that, I use my background in International Business and Economics to work as a freelance accountant, where my skill with numbers and financial acumen shines through.
My journey from Beirut to Orange County is a testament to my resilience and versatility. “I believe every strong person has a story of overcoming odds,” . For Me, each challenge faced has been a stepping stone toward creating a meaningful and successful life in a new land.
As I continues to juggle my various roles, I remains grounded by my commitment to celebrating life’s moments and making a difference in the lives of those around me. my story is not just about personal triumph; it’s about the power of resilience and the beauty of starting anew with a clear vision and an open heart.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Challenge: Starting a new life from scratch in a foreign country often means financial strain. I had to manage my personal finances carefully while investing in my new business venture.
Obstacle: Securing funding, managing cash flow, and balancing multiple income streams, including my photo booth business, construction work, and freelance accounting, were crucial to my financial stability.
Also moving to a new country involves not only adjusting to a new culture but also integrating into a different social environment. For me, adapting to the norms and lifestyle of Orange County presented a significant challenge.
Plus navigating unfamiliar social customs, building new relationships, and understanding the nuances of American culture required time and effort.
Launching a new business in a competitive market like Orange County required significant effort and dedication. I had to build my business from the ground up, establish a client base, and differentiate myself from competitors.
My involvement in diverse fields, including photo booth services, construction, and freelance accounting, required me to continuously learn and adapt to new professional environments and standards.
And Balancing and excelling in multiple areas of work while staying updated with industry trends and regulations demanded exceptional organizational skills and adaptability.
We don’t have to forget the emotional toll of leaving behind familiar surroundings and starting anew in a different country can be immense. I faced the stress of being away from my family and friends in Lebanon while building a new life in the U.S. Coping with feelings of isolation, managing the pressure of establishing myself in a new environment, and maintaining mental resilience were key challenges.
Establishing a reliable support system in a new country is crucial for both personal and professional success. I had to build a network of contacts, friends, and mentors in Orange County. So Finding and nurturing relationships that could offer guidance, support, and opportunities in an unfamiliar place required time and effort.

What does success mean to you?
Success means achieving a deep sense of personal satisfaction and fulfillment. For me, it’s about finding joy and purpose in my daily work and feeling accomplished in my various roles, from running my Photo Booth 360 business to excelling in construction and accounting. So is measured by the ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. I finds success in the happiness and joy my business brings to clients and guests, as well as in the tangible improvements I create through the construction and remodeling work.
Success for me is about resilience and the ability to overcome obstacles. I see my journey from Beirut to Orange County as a testament to my strength and perseverance. For me, successfully navigating life’s challenges and turning them into opportunities is a key indicator of success.
I also value continuous learning and adapting to new environments, whether it’s expanding my knowledge in construction, mastering new accounting techniques, or innovating in my photo booth business. is also about maintaining a balanced life. I strives to manage my various professional responsibilities while ensuring that I have time for personal interests and self-care.
