Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Wilson.

Hi Elizabeth, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Elizabeth Wilson, and House N Haven grew out of something simple—I started watching homes on the side while working full time for over 21 years. Now in retirement, I’ve been able to give it my full attention, caring not just for homes but also for the pets inside them—cats, dogs, and all the little routines that make a place feel loved.

I’ve worn many hats over the years— My introversion has always guided me toward work built on focus and one-on-one connection. Cosmetologist, makeup artist, massage therapist—but my proudest role has been raising my two daughters as a single mom. They’re now strong, intelligent women, and they’ve always been my reason to keep moving forward.

At its core, House N Haven isn’t just about looking after houses—it’s about caring for the lives, routines, and memories inside them. I’ve always believed in moving forward, and this business of mine is truly the perfect next chapter.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My life has had its share of struggles—caring for elderly parents, loss of two brothers, and facing displacement after abandonment. Through it all, I leaned on the strength of girlfriends and kept my vision straight ahead, like wearing blinders: no looking back, no side diversions. That determination carried me as a single mom and now fuels House N Haven.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about House & Haven Home Sitting?
House & Haven is a truly personal and rewarding venture. I give clients peace of mind while they’re away, making sure their homes feel lived in and cared for inside and out. Packages are received, mail collected, pools filled, refuse removed, and plants and foliage tended to. But the very best part has been all the little pet friends I’ve made along the way—cats, dogs, and companions who bring joy to this work every day.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see House & Haven continuing to grow through referrals and advertising. In time, I may bring on a few trusted helpers, as the demand will eventually be too much for me to handle alone. My goal is to maintain the same personal care and attention that has made this venture so rewarding while expanding to help even more clients and their pets feel at home.
