Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Ryan Mccomb

Hi Dr. Ryan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Orthodontics has always been a passion of mine, but my journey started long before I ever picked up a set of dental tools. I graduated from Harvard University with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine, where I developed a deep appreciation for the artistry and science behind transforming smiles. From there, I pursued specialized training at UCLA, completing my specialty training in Orthodontics.
Now, as an orthodontist serving patients in Culver City and West Hollywood, I love the process of assessing each individual’s needs and creating a personalized treatment plan, whether it’s a simple alignment or a complex surgical case. My goal is to make orthodontic care informative, approachable, and tailored to each patient. One of the biggest factors that pushes me to grow my business even further is that I love to see my team grow. As we’ve moved from one to two offices, we’ve had the opportunity to open up leadership opportunities and have started to build our executive team. This allows us to constantly improve our team and systems, translating into the best possible orthodontic care for patients.
When I’m not in the office, you’ll probably find me at the beach in Venice, either playing volleyball or spending time with my twin boys. At the end of the day, I love what I do because it allows me to combine science, problem-solving, and human connection, helping people feel more confident in their smiles every day.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any journey, the road to where I am today hasn’t always been smooth. Becoming an orthodontist requires years of intense education and training, from dental school at Harvard to my orthodontic residency at UCLA. The learning curve was steep, and balancing academics with hands-on clinical work was challenging.
Starting my own practice also came with its own set of hurdles. Building trust in the community, navigating the business side of orthodontics, and ensuring that every patient receives top-quality care are responsibilities I take seriously. There have been long hours, tough decisions, and unexpected obstacles along the way.
That being said, every challenge has been worth it. The struggles have only made me a better orthodontist and a better leader for my team. At the end of the day, seeing a patient light up with confidence after treatment makes all the hard work worthwhile. Every time we bring a new team member on board, the first thing I tell them is that it doesn’t matter how big our company gets – if we’re not having fun along the way, it’s not worth it. So we work every day to ensure our team and patients are thriving.
