Growing up in Korea and later immigrating to the United States at the age of 15, I was naturally immersed in Korean beauty culture from a young age. This exposure to the traditions of slow beauty became an integral part of my new American lifestyle. After completing my education, I pursued a career in nutritional science and healthcare management, where I dedicated over 15 years of my life. This experience not only taught me the power of compassion but also emphasized the significance of leading a healthy lifestyle.
The combination of my Korean heritage and my medical background laid the groundwork for my Slow Beauty Philosophy. I firmly believe that slow and steady wins the race when it comes to beauty. My goal is to inspire individuals to prioritize quality over quantity in their self-care routines, fostering sustainability and long-term well-being. Building KIMKRIS Beauty has been an incredible journey, but it certainly hasn’t been without its challenges. Like any entrepreneurial venture, we faced obstacles that tested our resilience and determination.
One of the initial struggles we encountered was sourcing and developing high-quality skincare products that aligned with our Slow Beauty Philosophy. We were committed to using ingredients that were not only effective, safe and sustainable but also BRAND NEW to the industry -HMB and 2HOBA. This required extensive research, collaboration with experts, and rigorous testing to ensure that every product we offered met our stringent standards. It was essential to strike a balance between modern scientific advancements and traditional Korean beauty wisdom, and this process demanded meticulous attention to detail.
Navigating the ever-evolving regulatory landscape was yet another challenge we encountered. Compliance with regulations and ensuring that our products met all the necessary guidelines was a complex task. We invested significant time and resources into understanding the regulatory requirements, working closely with legal advisors and industry experts to ensure full compliance. This was crucial to guaranteeing the safety and trustworthiness of our products.
