Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Brown
Hi Brittany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into makeup artistry began with my sister. It all started when I would visit her makeup school and go as her makeup model. After several sessions, I found myself fascinated by the craft. I asked her countless questions about makeup application, and it became clear to her that I shared her passion. Inspired by this, I decided to tour the makeup school she had attended and eventually enrolled at the same one—Empire Academy of Makeup in Orange County—to pursue my own education in the field.
I did my first test shoot in 2014 with my now “work-wife” Niki Cram. I had never done one before and she asked me to create a black smokey eye look. Looking back at those images to fast-forward 11 years, wow…..it’s amazing to see how much we have grown and honed our skills/craft!
Now today, in 2025, I have an amazing network of like-minded creatives! I help creative directors, photographers, and producers create stunning natural & enhanced beauty for their projects/content. Some of my clients include: DRMTLGY, ETHIKA, NuFACE, LALICIOUS, ASICS, ALO, TAYLOR MADE MENS GOLF TEAM, TARGET, and more!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being a freelance artist comes with its challenges. It requires constant adaptability and hustle. Even on days off, there’s always work to be done to secure future opportunities. The journey of an entrepreneur is never truly finished, but my drive to succeed keeps me pushing forward, always striving to be my best.
As you know, we’re big fans of Brittany Brown Beauty LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I specialize in corrective beauty makeup, bridal makeup, print makeup, and mature makeup, with a focus on enhancing natural features through soft shadows, subtle highlights, and beautifully sculpted almond-shaped eyes. Corrective beauty makeup comes naturally to me—I don’t have to think about it; I just do it. The smallest adjustments to the skin can have a powerful impact.
Known for my signature soft, natural beauty look, “no-makeup-makeup,” I prioritize radiant, glowing skin and warm, bronzed skin. I also have a deep passion for mature makeup, ensuring that moms, aunts, grandmothers, and beyond feel beautiful and celebrated. My light application technique leaves every client feeling confident and glowing.
Collaboration is key—I love working with my clients to blend our ideas and create a customized look that enhances their unique beauty.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I believe in taking risks and stepping outside your comfort zone! It can be intimidating at first to introduce yourself to someone new or ask a colleague on set to grab coffee later. But in my experience, it’s always been worth it. Every time I’ve put myself out there, it has only helped me grow and expand my network.
