Today we’d like to introduce you to Arron Mundy.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a graduate of Hampton University, business management major. With several years of corporate marketing/sales experience. I started this with a friend. There are actually two entities. The BlackOut and BlackOut TV. The concept was to give entrepreneurs who are just starting off a place to share and see their vision come a reality. The BlackOut started off as a market bf we had two successful events. During covid, everything shut down and we couldn’t host community events. That’s when the entertainment side started and BlackOut TV was activated. Instead of protesting at the height of BLM, I decided to help my friends who had businesses and promote and find ways to keep their doors open during its time. Since then we have had several shows centered around entrepreneurs and the like.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The struggle along the way is a work-life balance. It hasn’t been smooth but it’s been a very fun and humbling experience regardless of what the future brings.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about BlackOut Tv?
The BlackOut is an umbrella for other production companies. There are power in numbers. As a unit, we range from everything from filming corporate events to fashion shows to graduations and real estate. But our claim to fame are weddings. What sets us apart is our teamwork. Every client we have had, we have left a lasting impression… Our creativity when we all come together. Different styles and everyone has a voice. We offer a range of services. One a business standpoint, weddings pictures and videos, team photos, real estate, music videos, headshots and so much more. Entertainment wise we have shows such as From the Ground Up and The Underground. These promote entrepreneurs and musicians within our community with more shows to come.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Basketball with my friends. Back home from college. After a long day of playing, one of my friends came to me talking about he can’t go on. He’s tired and cramping up. As an athlete, we didn’t believe in taking breaks and since all of us were playing, he was forced to play. Halfway in the game, he was for a shot and both of his calf’s locked up mid-shot. The ball has a lot of hight to it but no range. He completely gave up on the shot. To me, it was funny because of the face reactions and everything happening around me.
