Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Peter
Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
At 29 years old, actress and voice actor Amanda Peter has become the new owner of 3-2-1 Acting Studios, the premier acting school for children and teens in Los Angeles. Previously a school director and acting coach for children, teens and adults, Amanda is now expanding her horizons beyond acting. In addition to being an actress, producer and editor, she takes on the role of businesswoman, leading one of the most renowned acting schools in Los Angeles.
Amanda Peter, came to the USA alone when she was just 16 years old, looking for more training in the entertainment field, after taking courses in Brazil. Here, Amanda graduated in performing arts and specialized in television and dubbing. Having spent more than a decade in the USA, Amanda has participated in several film projects, theater, TV commercials, and has dubbed more than 30 films and soap operas for television, airlines, and Netflix. Amanda also worked for Soul Brasil magazine as an entertainment news host and reporter at events such as film festivals and music events. Amanda represented her country as Miss Brazil Panamerican in 2016 and has also done print and modeling work.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was definitely challenging to move to a different country as a minor, in the hopes of following my dream. I had to overcome being away from family, friends, my home culture and native language. In the process of adapting to the States I also lived in Massachusetts and Texas before eventually settling in Los Angeles, California, where I have been for over 10 years.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about 3-2-1 Acting Studios?
At 3-2-1 Acting Studios, Amanda prepares child actors from the age of 4, to adult actors, begin their careers in the entertainment business. Amanda produces her signature Showcase & Acting Career Program: an acting program that is different from all others in the industry, as it includes training with several Hollywood acting coaches, in addition to including photo shoots, demo reels, and all the “business of the business “aspects of licenses and permits for minors, resume editing, interview training, and more! This program culminates into a showcase day, in which agents and managers from renowned agencies come to watch performances and offer career opportunities.
Unlike other showcases in the United States, which usually occur in one single say, Amanda’s program is famous for its uniqueness, as it includes an exclusive training process and seminars over a period of six weeks before showcase day, as well as career guidance and exclusive events with industry professionals afterwards.
Graduates of her showcase program go on to work in television and film and have proven commercial success! Some of her students who are currently doing a great job on TV are: Diogo Ticoco (from the Netflix series “On My Block”), Jordan Elsass (from the CW series “Superman & Louis”), Forrest Willer (from the ABC series “Fresh of the Boat”) and Isabella Landau (from NBC’s “This is Us”).
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Amanda’s main focus is helping child actors and adults grow more confident and build life-long skills in communication and public speaking, while learning in a nourishing environment. Amanda is also passionate about mentoring aspiring actors and helping them begin their acting careers.
