Today we’d like to introduce you to Faith Busby.
Hi Faith, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
While working in tech, real estate, and studying Interior Design I college, I never knew I would become a professional Matchmaker. I remember how it started when I was single at age 26 and I reached out to a website which was the largest global matchmaking firm. I didn’t hear from them for over a year until one day I got a phone call out of the blue from the CEO asking to have a meeting. We had a great phone call about their client they wanted to match me with potentially, but instead they offered me a job. They knew I had a valuable personal network of possible matches as I am social, outgoing, love to travel, and from Santa Barbara, California, which is a hundred miles north of Los Angeles. I left my tech job and took my dream job as a Matchmaker and moved to the headquarters in San Francisco. Presently, I continue to help that same company as an outside consultant and head hunter. Matchmaking is rewarding and enjoyable. It can be challenging to work with people and manage these ever-changing interpersonal relationships, but it is so heartwarming to help find love.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I had to transition to become my own Founder and CEO after the original matchmaking firm downsized. They were in a tight spot and could only offer me a full-time role in San Francisco, but had already promised me I would be relocated to Southern California to manage that demographic for them. Since they downsized, I was forced to follow my dreams back to Southern California and become my own business owner. I took the entrepreneurial leap and created my five years of business plan. I am now on year three in that plan. It has not been an easy road. There have been many days of tears and hours of planning. I wouldn’t have changed anything about this journey. I’ve learned how to launch a small business and manage clients. It has been rewarding helping others find their partners along the way.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I run my own matchmaking firm which finds and matches you with your long-term committed relationship partner. We match both men and women clients to their partners for romantic dates and ultimately successful relationships often for marriage.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I did not know what the future would hold for matchmakers during this lockdown quarantine and unforeseeable timeline. No one knew what would happen. However, the interesting part is that the dating apps saw a huge increase in users and it is highly saturated now so every issue there was before the user increase has now magnified. People have way too many options and the dates do not end up happening. Men and woman receive too many messages and ultimately don’t reply or follow through, the dates do not happen.
