Inspiring Conversations with Casey Simpson of Fit by Case

Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Simpson.

Hi Casey, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was raised in a single-parent household on the west side of Detroit, MI. I attended a small private school K-8, private Catholic 9-10 and a Detroit Public School, 11-12. My fitness journey began when I was four years old at Jack Adams Ice Arena. There I began playing ice hockey up until my junior year of high school. After my junior year, I immediately realized I needed something to keep me just as active. So I decided to look for the best gym in the Metro Detroit area to keep me dedicated and active. I came across Jabs Boxing Gym in Birmingham, MI. I began training on and off, learning my body, changing my diet, mindset and lifestyle. In the summer of 2019, I fell into alignment with my purpose and Fit by Case, LLC was created. I earned my Certified Personal Training certification through NASM & ISSA. Since the completion of I have been taking clients.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the hardest things I have learned and still continue to learn on this entrepreneurial journey is how to maintain a healthy balance between work and play and using social media for promotional purposes. It has been such an interesting experience learning to schedule my day out using a planner, saying no to certain plans because they would break my schedule, planning ahead, meals prepping and so many other things. For a long time, I used platforms such as Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat for connecting with new people and laughs. I had no idea that one day I would use these platforms promotional tools to promote my brand/business. Before enrolling in a class to learn how to use these promotional tools, I went through so much trial and error to gain clients and connect with local trainers. The biggest adjustment had to be balancing my schedule. I’m a very social human and I think it’s safe to say I thrive off of human interactions and connections. Learning to say no to some late nights with friends was really tough but has ultimately been so worth it. I think things became easier once I accepted that I’m not perfect and things are okay in moderation.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Fit by Case, LLC specializes in providing the best personal training services virtually and in person at several metro Detroit gyms. I think Fit by Case is unique from other training businesses simply because of who I am. As a former ice hockey player, many women are inspired not only by ability to change my body but my eagerness to share how I developed discipline to consistently train so hard. Fit by Case, LLC offers: monthly training – $800 for three sessions every week until the month ends and a guided meal plan – $650 for two sessions every week until the month ends – $300 for one session every week until the month ends – $80 for one-hour session.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I have so many amazing mentors and supporters but I’d say my biggest supporters have been my family and therapist. I have spent so much time with them sharing my fears and anxieties about entrepreneurship. Not only have they pushed me to face them but helped me create a plan for maintaining and growing my business.
