Inspiring Conversations with Brooke Campbell of Brooke Nicole Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Campbell.

Hi Brooke, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Event planning was always something I knew I wanted to do. As early as grade school, I was involved in leadership and organized school dances and began planning birthday parties in the community. I attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo studying event management and immediately immersed myself in the local wedding community – working for catering companies, florists, venues, and assisting coordinators. My goal was to fully understand and be able to empathize will as many vendor roles as possible involved in an event to better improve my skills as an event planner. After completing my degree, I worked on the team that put together the world-class events at Pebble Beach – planning and executing the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Food & Wine, and the Concours d’Elegance. I missed the San Luis Obispo so much that I found my way back to the area to direct events at the San Luis Obispo Country Club, including all types of events such as birthday parties, memorials, golf tournaments, corporate gatherings, meetings, and weddings. Following this, after missing weddings so much I transitioned into a venue management role at a wedding venue – and then transitioned into the start of my event planning company, Brooke Nicole Events.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To some degree! I certainly thought I had my life “planned out” and the path didn’t happen exactly how I had anticipated, but I learned to trust the process. I look back at my path to business ownership and know I learned SO much in every role, and every role has contributed to my growth and knowledge in a huge way.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We offer event design, planning, and management for luxury celebrations on California’s Central Coast and across the state. Through creative design, intentional planning, and seamless execution, we will turn our clients’ dream day into a reality. We specialize is full-service design and planning – we believe that love is so personal and unique, and it is our intention to create a personalized day unique to our client and their love story. Our personalized process definitely stands out! We get to know our clients as best as possible, and we only take on a select amount of clients to be sure they get the time and attention they deserve and need through the planning process.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Yes! Investing time and money in your business is a risk in general, but because of the early investment I have seen immense growth in a short time! I think there will always be risk in business ownership – especially in the midst of a pandemic that directly impacts you – but if you take your business seriously and are willing to invest in that, then that will translate into how clients see and view your brand. That perceived value will lead to growth!
