Today we’d like to introduce you to Bmarie Mann.
Bmarie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 1993, my father, Randy M. Walker, invented 41 flavors of Cotton Candy. He opened a huge store in San Jose, CA where he sold Cotton Candy, Candy apples, Gourmet caramel apples, saltwater taffy, flavored ices and flavored sodas in which he called “fizzers.” When he passed away in 2006, I wanted to continue his dream, however I wouldn’t say I intended on following in his exact footsteps. My passion for beauty and cosmetics started in 2009. For years I was in search of the perfect matte lipstick, yet every brand that I tried either came off too easily or made my lips feel dry! This left me feeling frustrated and insecure when wearing lipstick. In 2017, I formulated my own vegan matte liquid lipstick that is long wear and moisturizing. In efforts to incorporate my father’s legacy, I combined the candy idea with cosmetics and decided to call my lipsticks “Lollisticks” naming each one after the tasty treats that my father had in his candy store. My goal for this company is to end the search for the perfect matte lipstick that will not leave your lips feeling dry or cracked. A woman should feel confident that whenever she applies her lipstick, it is going to be there until she is ready to take it off without compromising the softness of her natural lips. Be Candy encourages all women that there is nothing that they can not do. Sometimes when you can’t find what you are looking for, you gotta create your own path and bring freedom to those that are around you.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
During my journey, I faced MANY obstacles. It took me five long years to create my brand! Fear was one of my biggest struggles. I was so afraid of launching my product because I didn’t know how people would respond to it. I cared so much about what people thought of me and I wanted to please everyone to the point of me shrinking back or even giving up altogether because I did not know how to please everyone. Man, I gave up so many times. I even got to the point of quitting for about a year and a half because I got super discouraged. I was so caught up on what people would think that I allowed it to cripple me and my vision altogether. As we can see, I decided to stop caring what others thought and launch my brand based on the vision that was in my heart. I am now a little over a year in, and the fear of what people think still tries to come, yet now because I am a whole lot stronger than I was before, I know how to properly fight against those thoughts and remove all negativity that does not line up with truth and success.
We’ve been impressed with Be Candy Cosmetics, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Be Candy Cosmetics is a Lipstick line that is geared towards the hardworking woman who is done looking for the perfect matte lip. As women, we should feel confident when we apply our lipstick knowing that when we put it on, it is going to stay on without compromising the softness of our lips. What sets my brand apart from others is the fact that I know what it is like to feel frustrated because I have to keep reapplying my lipstick or having the perfect color but the formula leaves my lips feeling super dry. I have been in the beauty industry for over 13 years and have worked with many brands, yet have not been able to find what I was looking for in a lipstick. Thats why I formulated my Lollisticks. I know that if I am having these issues with lipstick, there are other women that are experiencing the same thing, so I have created Be Candy Cosmetics as the solution!
As an entrepreneur, I am most proud of the fact that Be Candy has inspired so many people. I always get messages from women all overstating how Be Candy Cosmetics has allowed them to step out of their box, grow their confidence and bring a sense of relief to those struggling to find the perfect lipstick. I am also proud that in just one year, my business is profiting! I have made over 5x the amount that I invested into my business and my brand is in 45 states and 2 Countries!! I am in 1 retail boutique and one of my collections was featured on Celebrity Tabatha Browns “Very Good Mondays”. Did I mention that all of this happened during a Pandemic! I am truly blessed and I’m so glad that I did not give into the fear that was trying to hold me back. Be Candy Cosmetics has so much to offer! Not only does it have the Matte Liquid Lipsticks (Lollisticks), I’ve also created moisturizing glosses in which I call Frostings. All of my products are Vegan and animal cruelty-free. In fact, I test everything out on myself after I create the formula.
To add to the fun, I have created virtual Ombre lip parties called “Lip and Sips” where it gives all lipstick lovers a chance to host a virtual party with their friends and family as I teach them how to do Lipstick combinations. Each kit is $25 dollars and includes six samples of each Lollistick as well as all the tools that are needed to create beautiful and fun Lipstick combinations. During the party, there are also gifts and raffles for a chance to win free Be Candy products. These parties are free to book and come with incentives. Last but not least, I wanted to provide a service that not very many brands provide. My love for business has turned into my number one passion! Therefore I have launched a section of my website called “Business with Bmarie”. This is where I offer tips and strategies to women who either have a small business that they need help growing or a business idea that they need help launching. I offer business sessions or one on one sessions at an affordable cost to those who need help with their brands. Am I where I want to be with Be Candy Cosmetics? No not at all, I believe I have a ways to go, yet if I can help other small businesses get to where I am quicker, then that’s what I would love to do! There is so much more that I am looking to do to expand Be Candy Cosmetics and I look forward to sharing my gift with the world!

For those that have a dream or idea, go for it! Do not let fear hold you back. One thing that really helped me push forward is the thought that if I didn’t, then I would be in the same place this time next year. Thats a crazy thought to think about. Being in the same place a year from now. I didn’t want that to be my life. Someone needs what you have. Someone is waiting for what you have to offer, so do it! Do it for them!! Although there may already be someone that is doing what you are doing, they cant do it the way you do… God made you special for a reason, so don’t hide the gift that He gave you.
