Hi Aurelio, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The only reason I am where I am today had been because of all the people who have been part of my life. It is nothing but affinity and timing. It is the vivid impressions that my parents, who immigrated into this country, that has been the determining factor and main reason of why I am here today. I cannot take any of the credit. All I have done is just put one foot in front of the other. I’ve been so fortunate to always have people cross my path that influences me into the right direction. Whether it be my wife, high school teachers, college professors, co-workers, bosses, and even random strangers. I hear all the time that “ necessity is the mother of all innovation” this couldn’t be any truer. Sin karma was created based on a necessity, it was brought forth to fill in a gap. The gap was more good food with less karma. Our main principle in our creation was to protect the dignity of life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely, it has not been easy. We kinda walked into this blindfolded. All we knew was food. We didn’t know anything about taxes, permits, finances, partnerships, marketing, business plans, etc… the list is endless. We literally have been learning as we go. Most of the struggles have been on learning how to smooth out familial relationships. It’s finding the balance and recognizing where one is at all times. But truly, it because of all of the countless hardships that we have been strengthened and able to move forward. One learns more from a loss than from a win.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Tacos Sin Karma is a Plant Based Mexican Food Establishment That was established in 2016. We come from first-generation immigrant households. We are known for creating the Carne Asnada. Asnada because it’s not Asada it’s Nada(nothing). Which we like to call the Mexican Beyond. Our food is pure and simple. Another interesting fact about our food is that we don’t use any onion or garlic or any other alliums in any of our recipes. This eastern philosophy is What we called “temple food”. Mexican Vegan With No Onion and No Garlic many say no way but once they take a bite, they are so shocked. They can’t believe that food can taste so good without any of the most essential flavor element in all culinary styles, that in itself is a hard feat. We proud ourselves in this very much because we are revolutionizing not just century-old recipes but also century-old understandings of food and consciousness. Our name Tacos Sin Karma carries our mission not only in business but in all of life which is “Without Karma meaning Sin Karma”. When people experience tacos sin karma not only are they enjoying good food but they are also partaking in an act of kindness, in an act of honoring their spirit and in elevating the consciousness.
What are your plans for the future?
Like stated earlier, we want to be known as the Mexican Beyond. Carne Asnada is the closest thing to the real Carne Asada. We look forward to seeing it grow so that it’s accessible to anyone and everyone.
