Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Dunham.
Hi Kayla , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Thank you so much for having me! My name is Kayla, and if there’s one thing that’s guided me throughout my life, it’s the power of connection. I grew up in a small town of 26,000 people in the Pacific Northwest where nature was abundant, and connection was essential. I was always the girl getting in trouble for talking too much in class or on the soccer field, but I later came to understand that what others saw as a distraction was actually my superpower: the ability to easily connect with people. That instinct would shape everything that came next, personally, professionally, and purposefully.
Over the past decade, I’ve built a career around that very instinct, connecting some of the world’s most influential voices with brands looking to move culture forward. From athletes and musicians to actors and chefs, I’ve helped shape campaigns that blend thoughtful storytelling with strategic impact, ensuring messages aren’t just heard, they’re felt. I’ve always believed in using influence for good, and I knew I wanted my career to align with something more lasting and meaningful.
That desire for deeper alignment led me inward, toward health, wellness, and the rituals that ground me. I played competitive soccer for over a decade, which instilled in me a deep appreciation for discipline, strength, and recovery. When I moved to LA nearly ten years ago, that foundation evolved into a more holistic lifestyle. Strength training, hot pilates, cold plunges, sauna sessions, sunset hikes, and farmers markets make up a majority of my routine.
My connection to the body naturally intertwined with my connection to nature. Growing up surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country made me acutely aware of what we stand to lose if we don’t take care of our planet. That’s why I founded Westside Coastal Club, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and protecting our beaches through monthly cleanups, community gatherings, and accessible environmental education. It’s a project that keeps me grounded and hopeful, and reminds me that small actions, done consistently, can create meaningful change.
Most recently, I’ve stepped into a role that brings all of these passions together. I joined CoreViva, a preventive health and wellness company committed to helping people take control of their health with advanced, non-invasive, radiation-free, full body MRI scans that identify potential issues early, before symptoms appear.. At CoreViva, I’m the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Talent Partnerships where I get to merge my entertainment background with my commitment to health and my belief in empowering people with information to truly change their lives.
To me, it’s all connected: meaningful relationships, physical wellness, environmental advocacy, and brand storytelling. Whether I’m creating a campaign, organizing a beach cleanup, or helping someone take charge of their health journey, the mission is always the same—to leave things better than we found them.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not entirely, but I don’t think it’s supposed to be. Working with celebrities and high-profile brands can seem glamorous, but like any job, it comes with long hours, quick turnarounds, and a lot of behind-the-scenes work. It’s taught me how to stay calm, grounded, and to consistently remind myself, it’s PR not ER.
Starting a nonprofit was its own kind of challenge. I wasn’t sure if others would share my passion for sustainability, and putting something so personal out into the world felt vulnerable. But over time, Westside Coastal Club grew into a true community, something I couldn’t be more grateful for.
And like anyone, I’ve had my share of rejections, or what I like to call redirections. Every layoff, disappointing interview, and closed door ultimately led me exactly where I was meant to be. The road hasn’t always been smooth, but I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m deeply proud of where I am today.
