Today we’d like to introduce you to Xiao Qiao Liu Winter.
Hi Xiao Qiao Liu, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In a world where borders blur and cultures collide, tastemakers like Xiao Qiao Liu Winter are crafting the future of global entertainment. As CEO of Global Asian Media & Entertainment (GAME), Winter is not just navigating the world of international partnerships — she’s curating it, elevating cross-cultural exchange into an art form.
Founded by Winter and her longtime collaborator Yiju Chen— both heavyweights in the Asian media landscape — GAME is a testament to vision, ambition, and decades of hard-won experience. With deep roots in media, film, television, music, fashion, events, real estate, and technology, the duo shares a bold mission: to deliver the highest-quality English and Asian-language content, music, and lifestyle creations to the global stage, seamlessly bridging East and West.
Winter’s journey is a story of tenacity and transcultural finesse. A Chinese-American bilingual entertainment force, she began her career managing communications for a leading American director on Chinese productions — a role that ignited her passion for U.S.-China collaborations. She soon expanded her reach at the Paris-based agency ECI, representing an eclectic roster of international actors, directors, producers, writers, and celebrities. Specializing in Europe/ U.S.-China productions across film, TV, streaming, music, and public relations, Winter quickly became a trusted advisor to some of the industry’s most influential power players.
Her client list reads like a golden roll call of Chinese entertainment titans: iQIYI, One Film Fund, North TianJing Film Studio, Seven Stars Films, Guangdong Film and TV Studio, the Huading Awards, and Huahua Media. Her star-studded roster of celebrities — including Jing Tian, Huang Xiaoming, and Zhang Yuqi — further cements her reputation as a key figure at the intersection of East-West entertainment. Yet Winter’s mission goes far beyond opening doors for Chinese studios in America; she is equally passionate about championing U.S. talents — directors, writers, composers, musicians — for Chinese-driven productions aimed at global audiences.
Co-founder Yiju Chen brings her own brand of star power to GAME. As the former CEO of Seven Stars Entertainment and COO of Sun Seven Stars Media Group’s Overseas Operations, Chen has spent years building bridges between Hollywood and China. Her work includes co-producing Hollywood Adventure with Justin Lin and distributing Grace of Monaco — starring Nicole Kidman — to Chinese audiences, further demonstrating her prowess in global deal-making.
Today, Global Asian Media & Entertainment is emerging as one of the industry’s most dynamic forces — a true incubator for globally marketable IPs, services, products, and artistic collaborations. By blending the world’s top creative talents with Asia’s brightest stars, GAME is creating entertainment that resonates on a truly international scale.
Among their high-profile client is ByteDance, for whom GAME has produced major creator gaming ad campaigns and produced prestigious summits, solidifying their reputation for innovation, influence, and cultural connectivity.
As global entertainment grows more interconnected, visionaries like Xiao Qiao Liu Winter, Yiju Chen, and GAME aren’t just part of the movement — they are reshaping the future of storytelling itself.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest struggle is that people don’t believe in you. They will belittle your vision. You have to truly believe in yourself to make your vision come true.” It’s this unshakeable self-belief that has fueled Winter’s rise — and the transformative growth of Global Asian Media Entertainment.
You have to have balls and money and time to invest in your vision. And you will fail sometimes, but it will take you to the next step.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Global Asian Media & Entertainment?
At Global Asian Media Entertainment (GAME), we specialize in creating powerful cross-cultural connections through entertainment, media, and lifestyle. Our company was founded on a shared vision: to build a bridge between the East and West — bringing the best of Asian talent, creativity, and culture to the global stage, and vice versa.
We focus on developing and producing high-quality English and Asian-language content across film, television, streaming, music, events, and branded lifestyle experiences. Beyond that, we also work in creator partnerships, live summits, gaming, and cross-border marketing campaigns. We proudly partner with major global companies — including ByteDance — on creative production and high-profile initiatives.
What sets us apart is our deep cultural fluency and global reach. We are true curators of talent and ideas, with a proven ability to seamlessly connect creative and business ecosystems between Hollywood, Asia, and beyond. Our decades of experience in media, events, PR, and talent management give us a 360-degree understanding of how to create not just content, but full cultural experiences that resonate globally.
Brand-wise, we are most proud of our reputation as trusted advisors and tastemakers in international entertainment. We aren’t just service providers — we are partners who deeply invest in the success of the talents, companies, and projects we represent.
Global Asian Media & Entertainment is where global vision meets creative excellence. Whether it’s helping U.S. talents break into the Asian market, guiding Asian studios in global distribution, producing major campaigns, or curating international events, we are passionate about making cultural collaboration not only possible, but truly extraordinary.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality that has been most important to my success is resilience. In this industry — and in life — you have to be able to keep going even when others doubt you, when challenges pile up, or when the future feels uncertain. I’ve learned that it’s not just about having a great vision; it’s about having the strength to hold onto that vision when no one else sees it yet.
Another key characteristic is cultural fluency — the ability to genuinely understand and respect different markets, perspectives, and creative languages. Building real global connections isn’t just about business; it’s about trust, empathy, and authenticity.
And just as important is partnership. Finding a partner who truly believes in you and shares your vision can change everything. I’m fortunate to have that in Yiju Chen — together, we complement each other’s strengths and form a team that’s greater than the sum of its parts. That kind of partnership gives you the courage to dream bigger and push further.
At the end of the day, I believe success comes from a mix of vision, resilience, partnership, and the ability to bring people together across cultures and industries.
