Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria McLaughlin.
Hi Victoria, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been practicing family law for ten years. At the beginning of my career, working at firms in LA, every case involved litigation. While that is typical, it was not where my heart was. My personality is much more relaxed. So when I moved to Manhattan Beach in 2020 (before I knew a global pandemic would ensue), I decided to open my own firm there. At my firm, I never litigate. I focus solely on mediation and collaborative divorces (I handle prenups, postnups, and post-judgment issues too).
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall, the road has been pretty smooth. When I launched my firm in 2020, amicable divorce cases starting coming my way almost immediately. Now that it’s been a few years and life is more or less back to normal, I feel like I’m really settling into the Manhattan Beach community.

I run a law firm that focuses on non-adversarial resolutions to family law issues. I’m known for my calm demeanor and casual approach to cases. Keeping the tone zen is my specialty — which automatically sets me apart from most family law attorneys. I’m proud of the brand I’ve created because it is unapologetically me. Whether clients come to me for a divorce or a prenup, I am always looking for ways to navigate disagreements in the smoothest way possible.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I am instinctively a risk-averse person, but in business (and in life), I make a conscious effort to fight those tendencies because I know that playing it safe limits a person’s potential. Thus, I have actually taken huge risks in life on both the professional and personal front. Professionally, I took a huge risk opening a family law practice that does not litigate cases, but it was definitely the right move for me.
