Today we’d like to introduce you to Vee Mechelle
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
“I’ve been in the fashion game for over 16 years. It’s kinda crazy now that I think about it. My mom’s a big deal in interior design community she started out designing clothes for my father who’s a well known blues singer the late Geater Davis, so I guess you could say it’s in my blood. So yeah I started by just watching her, Then I started going to different fashion shows, and networking like crazy to build my name and my brand. It was super tough at first – I even styled client’s and fashion shows for free just to get my foot in the door. But it eventually paid off. I finally landed my first paying client, then my first celeb client, and the clientele kept growing next thing I know, I’m styling Monie from Little Women Atlanta. That’s when the producer, Kristy Dixon, told me with a personality like mines I should be on TV. I mean, who knew, right? In 2021, I joined the cast of Extreme Sisters Season 2 on TLC & Discovery+ The show aired in January 2023, and it’s been wild ever since.” Some of my current clients are
Mignon Von she plays Danni On Tyler Perry’s Hit Television Show Sistas, Monie From Little Women ATL and more !
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I believe there’s no shortcut to success. It’s been a challenging journey for sure filled with hard lessons. I’ve encountered setbacks, including instances where trust was misplaced. Where I’ve had limited clients for a year, I viewed it as an opportunity for growth. Every experience, positive or negative, has shaped me and contributed to my development. I’m grateful for the challenges as they’ve helped me learn and improve.”
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
