Today we’d like to introduce you to Tonie Piper
Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today. You can include as little or as much detail as you’d like.
My story started as a young girl and then my journey began. I was born to my loving parents in Compton, Ca and raised in several cities (Compton, Pasadena and Bellflower). As a young girl I experienced life with mixed experiences. Some great and some challenging. At the age of 17 years old God blessed me with the best gift (my oldest son) which brought the beginning to an ongoing beautiful story still flourishing today. I made a promise to myself that I would be a light in this world and let my life be a reflection of God’s grace and love.
Today, I am a proud wife of 10 years to a loving husband and a proud mother of 2 sons, loving/supportive family member and friend, entrepreneur of multiple businesses and being a light to individuals and families in our communities.
Has it been a smooth road? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road was definitely not easy, but I would choose my life stories the same way the struggles and journeys all over again. Although I’ve had my own personal challenges and traumas my full story is still being written, and one day I will share that story.
My calling has always been to work with young ladies and individuals who were not able to care for themselves. As a young girl growing up, I would see people on the street and say to myself “One day I’m going to help people on the streets, I would feed them and give them a place to stay”.
After attending nursing school, I begin to work in the medical field and eventually moved into the corporate field. I unexpectedly lost my corporate job after my husband, and I had just purchased our 1st home and expecting our second son.
I had been praying prior to that for an answer to start a business in my passion that I had been slowly working toward, but didn’t have the available resources needed to start. After the loss of my job, my husband encouraged me to go after my passion. Again, I prayed very specifically and asked God for an answer (I had the audacity to give him a timeframe) Did he answer? YES, HE DID! I had an answer within 24 hours, and it was very clear. This would be a story for another day. From that day, I have been living my passion and flourishing all while helping others by changing, providing space and opportunity for others to do the same.

I am blessed and most proud to be doing exactly what I was born to do. Every business I own or apart of all ties together to helping people in all aspects of life. I am able to live out my brand by simply being a light and showing love to others. What makes me stand out? As you read below, I have provided each company and services provided. Light House for all Youth under Be A Light Enterprises: Is an organization created to provide services to fathers and mothers who are incarcerated, DCFS cases, all individuals experiencing mental health, drug abuse and domestic violence. We work with families privately, professionals in family law and adult protective services who are all working together to reunify individuals with their children and families.
Services: Entrepreneur Training
Be A Light Enterprises is an organization created to train individuals on how to be a Professional Visitation Monitor who will provide professional services to families in our communities along with promoting and creating more entrepreneurs in or communities.
Love Beyond Words Residential Care
Services: Adult Residential Facility-Housing
Love Beyond Words is a residential care facility that provides housing and 24-hour care for adults who have experienced Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), moderate/severe to profound disabilities, mental health and other medical concerns.
Piper Consulting Group
Services: Consulting
This consulting agency walks individuals through the process on how to open an Adult Residential facility (ARF) to provide housing to individuals in our communities.
Daughters of Love
Services: Transitional Housing for Pregnant/Parenting Mothers
This is an organization that I am the Program Manager for the program/VP on the board that provides housing, life skills training and resources to all young ladies transitioning out of foster care. This program is owned by my partner Medina Pina.
