Hi Tiffeany, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
It all began with a simple yet powerful idea: creating a learning tool to help my friend understand baseball. As a lifelong sports fan and the daughter of a coach, I had firsthand experience and knowledge of the game, thanks to my father. When he fell ill, I was driven to honor his influence by founding 1st & Ten, a platform designed by a woman, for women.
My father witnessed the early stages of my venture before his passing in September 2021, which was incredibly meaningful for both of us. Since then, we’ve grown 1st & Ten into a thriving business with a monthly subscription service and a unique “Learn and Earn” program. This program not only educates women about football but also empowers them to earn money by hosting events, making it a truly innovative and impactful initiative.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The pandemic certainly brought its challenges, especially for in-person events. For 1st & Ten Industries, this meant a significant shift in how you engaged with your audience. With the restrictions on gatherings, you had to pivot quickly to virtual classes to continue providing valuable learning experiences.
Despite these hurdles, I adapted and found innovative ways to keep the community connected and engaged. Virtual classes became a lifeline, allowing women to continue learning about football from the safety of their homes. This transition not only maintained the momentum of my mission but also expanded my reach, as more people could join from different locations.
Last year, as the pandemic officially ended, I was able to resume in-person events, bringing back the personal touch and camaraderie that are so integral to my program. This return to normalcy has reinvigorated my community and allowed me to continue growing and evolving 1st & Ten Industries.
