Hidden Gems: Meet Steven Tan of Almeida Realty Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Tan.

Hi Steven, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I thought the world was going to end during Covid of 2020. So I thought “if the world is going to end, I should do my bucket list.”

So, I sky dived , parasailed, graduate college, rode a horse, hot air balloon and I even became a real estate agent. Why live a life of fear?

In this journey I found a deep love in real estate. And now I’m working hard everyday to grow this business from scratch

My first year in real estate I was helping my buyer buy a $1,200,000 home and I brought the price down to $900,000. I am pretty good

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A difficult obstacle I face was I was showing my buyer $6.5 million dollars in home worth ( he wanted to buy two homes worth $3.25 million each ). But my dog “Cody” died the day before. I was devastated. I cried my eyes out. He was my first dog and I watch him take one last breath. He was an old dog. I rested his body on his favorite pillow he likes to lay on.

The next day, me and my business partner Bryan showed the home. I put on a charming smile but at the end of the showing when everyone left. I cried in my car and just sat there.

Self doubt, insecurities and the constant feeling of never being sure if this is the right thing happened to me all the time before COVID. But now that all changed

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Almeida Realty Group?
I am known for knocking on doors. Rain or intense heat. I knock on 100 doors a day. I love it when it rains, because more people open their doors. In the intense summer heats, everyone is so nice to offer water. My favorite part about knocking on doors is surprisingly the door bells.

There is something just magical when you knock on a million dollar home and when you ring the door. They sometimes have a customized ringtone of “Star Wars” blasting out from the speakers of their door bells. Or the door bells that have cameras on them also makes a customized noise, my favorite is the Whoopee cushion

I want the readers to know, opportunity doesn’t knock. But when it does… those moments change everything

My organization is Almeida Realty Group. We are powered by ColdWell Banker Exclusive and we have been in business for 30 plus years while ColdWell has been in business for 115 plus years. This year in 2025 while business has been going south for many other teams and organizations. Almeida realty group is very positive in our productions. We attribute that because of our foundation of hard work.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Nothing new under the sun. Technology will advance and different apps will be made to advance the accessibility of real estate. Companies and brands will change their names, merge with other companies or they will crumble entirely.

The big take away, what will never change is housing will always go up. People need to grab their piece of the pie while they can. It took 5 years for homes in the valley to increase around 50%. I don’t see any of us getting a 50% raise! So get in before the boat set sail
