Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Munoz.
Hi Steven, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Break Room LA began with a simple vision of two high school friends to shake up the entertainment scene and give guests something completely new to experience. When most people think of LA, they picture Hollywood Boulevard and the endless list of tourist attractions. Sure, there’s plenty to see, but we noticed something missing, a place where friends, families, and teams could let loose, laugh hard, and do something totally out of the ordinary.
LA has no shortage of bars, but when it comes to interactive, hands-on entertainment, the options were surprisingly limited. That’s where Break Room LA came in bringing a bold new twist to family-friendly fun and group experiences.
From day one, Break Room LA was a booming success, quickly becoming one of LA’s most talked-about destinations for unforgettable, high-energy experiences and we’re just getting started because breaking stuff (safely) never goes out of style!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges we faced was, of course, COVID-19. The pandemic completely changed how people lived, worked, and connected. Businesses were forced to shut their doors, the economy took a huge hit, and the entire entertainment industry came to a standstill almost overnight.
For a business built around in person experiences, it was a major curveball. Like many others, we had to pause operations, rethink safety protocols, and figure out how to adapt in a world where social distancing suddenly became the new normal.
But here’s the twist, once restrictions lifted, we realized something incredible, people were ready. After months of pent-up stress, uncertainty, and isolation, everyone just wanted to let it all out and what better way than to break some stuff? To our surprise, post-COVID, people came in ready to smash, laugh, and release all that frustration.
In a way, COVID reminded us why Break Room LA exists, to give people a safe space to release, reset, and rediscover fun again… even when life gets messy.
We’ve been impressed with Break Room LA, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Let’s be honest, sometimes life just needs a good smash!
At Break Room LA, we specialize in creating unforgettable experiences where people can trade stress for satisfaction, one glorious swing at a time. Whether you’re aiming for a bullseye at axe throwing, unleashing your energy in our rage room, or turning your paint skills into modern art, we make it socially acceptable (and ridiculously fun) to break things!
We’re known for curating next level group experiences, from corporate team-building and birthday bashes to “my ex took the air fryer” recovery parties.
What sets us apart? Our energy, our creativity, and our ability to turn destruction into laughter, connection, and share worthy chaos.
We’re most proud of being LA’s go to destination for unfiltered fun. The kind that gets your heart racing, your friends laughing, and your stress levels at an all time low.
