Today we’d like to introduce you to Seana-Marie Sesma.
Hi Seana-Marie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am excited to share part of my story with you today.
I am an 8th-generation California girl with ancestors that are Native American, Spanish, Mexican, Portuguese, Basque, Puerto Rican and African just to name a few. I was born in Santa Barbara and raised throughout California, but I am very grateful to have landed here in Ventura in 2002 and just love that I am here in this beautiful coastal town. I have been an entrepreneur my entire life and started my first business as a kid.
I have been a business owner and entrepreneur in sales, marketing and consulting since 1982. Through my businesses and networks, I have made significant contributions to industries in retail merchandising, hospitality, fashion, promotions, health & wellness and cannabis. I am the Founder and Creative Opportunity Specialist of Your PR Girls, a 360-degree promotional resources and services company specializing in B2B consulting, marketing, promotional products & services, all designed to ensure the growth and success of local and national businesses who serve and uplift the people in their communities. Built into my company’s business models is the curation of strategic partner networks that connect trusted businesses and specialists to clients in need of specific services, providing both unique values to my clients and business growth for those in my networks.
Combining my extensive knowledge in developing prosperous businesses with my passion to support the growth of a legal, diverse and innovative commercial cannabis culture, I also am the founder of Mary Jane Services Network (MJSN), in which my team of professionals and I support cannabis businesses in taking the leap to become licensed and compliant companies that thrive from strong foundations into sustainable success.
My philosophy as an adult has always been to surround myself with people smarter than me in all aspects of my life. This enables me to learn and continuously evolve and develop myself. To include business, relationships, fitness, culinary skills, music, history and more. As I look back in life, I am beginning to see where that philosophy may have started and how that has influenced my journey of creativity, discovery, relationships and career. As an entrepreneur, my team and staff in my businesses have always had more education and degrees than I. I feel that was always a contributing factor to my success in business.
People are put in front of us to teach us something and to be a part of our own evolution. At 58 years old I plan to learn and evolve more and discover new mentors and leaders to influence my own goals and then turn it around as my gift to help others to find their own greatness in their life.
My personal goal is for us all to discover our reason why. Our stories matter because we are all in a place of evolution. Your story can influence your WHY. Why we DO what we DO, SELL what we SELL or CREATE what we CREATE. And along the way we are LEARNING, GROWING and our network even evolves. It’s about us as a collective – us as a group of strong women who can be stronger as a team as opposed to us working on our own. My goal is to share ways that we can make this happen together. How we as Women in business and entrepreneurs can elevate each other and create powerful partnerships that create strategic relationships that WILL affect our lives, our companies, our health and overall wellness!
I have a dream to teach large groups of people about subjects that I feel are empowering in business, health and in life. I want to bring out the good in people and help them find their greatness and the role they will play in their life and in their community.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest struggles along the way of being an entrepreneur have been making mistakes, however I always learn and grow from them. Another struggle has been educating our clients to understand the value of our products and services. Lastly, to say no has been difficult for me. I am a YES person and I want to take on all opportunities that I can. This sometimes overwhelms my schedule and responsibilities, so therefore no should have been the answer.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As Founder and Creative Opportunity Specialist, I manage and direct the company toward its primary goals and objectives. I create an environment and culture that focuses on fulfilling the company’s mission, vision and core values. With over 35 years of marketing experience, I provide inspired leadership company-wide. I oversee company operations, as well as employment decisions and manage the company’s organizational structure. I serve as the company’s primary spokesperson and I am at the forefront when communicating with decision-makers, potential clients, government entities and the general public. I develop business prospects, alliances and strategic partnerships by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities, as well as creating mutually beneficial relationships. I manage the company’s resources as well as assess and minimize risks to promote the welfare of the company.
My company positions itself to serve our clients with compelling promotional solutions that build new brands and strengthen existing ones. We ensure that each experience with our clients is seamless, affordable and goal-achieving. By providing superior value to our clients and partners, we aim to cultivate long-lasting relationships. Driven by an affinity to make a difference our eco-conscious philosophy and products will support the health of consumers and our planet. We stand for making a difference.
Unlike most of our competition, we provide marketing consulting services and then offer products and swag that create a complete package. For over two decades, we have worked with clients to guide their messages and position their brands to stand out in the market. We differ from other promotional services companies by offering social media marketing and implementation. With our service, you receive a laser brainstorming session and product recommendations that are effective. Our personalized service has been making customers happy for over 25 years. As a minority women-owned business, we in turn support the same as a positive impact strategy.
