Hi Phil, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey started in Detroit, where I grew up with big dreams of seeing myself on TV. Like many, I started with no connections in the industry. I hustled, studied the craft, and worked hard to put myself in the right rooms. Over time, I booked roles on shows like Chicago PD, Empire, and now as a recurring character on Mayor of Kingstown.

After achieving my dream of being on TV, I felt a strong calling to help others do the same. That’s what led me to create “Lights, Camera, Ready!” Through this platform, I help actors to take their acting career to the next level by guiding them through the exact blueprint I followed.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
When I moved to LA, there were financial struggles. There were times when I had to crash on couches and moments of self-doubt. I also had to learn how to navigate the business side of acting without guidance.

Those challenges taught me resilience and resourcefulness. Not only did they make me a better actor. They made me a better person too. Now, I use those same experiences to help other actors make more informed decisions.

My company, Lights, Camera, Ready, is all about helping actors build their careers in TV and film. I’m an active, working actor myself. Having landed roles on NBC, Fox, and Paramount, I know firsthand what it takes to break into the industry. My approach is deeply personal; I share the exact blueprint I followed to go from being an unsigned actor with no connections to becoming a recurring character on a hit show.

I’m incredibly proud of the community we’ve built. Seeing students book roles and sign with agents brings me so much happiness. It’s a reminder that I am truly walking in my purpose.
