Today we’d like to introduce you to Pedram Peter Salehi.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a general contractor and have been in construction for over 18 years. I immigrated to the US in 2000 and started working in construction when I was in my early 20s. Construction was a family business. My father and uncles are all developers, so I grew up in it. Watching my family design and develop homes from a young age gave me the passion to enter this industry and start my own company. When I first started my career, I worked for other companies as a project manager and gained a lot of experience and grew even fonder of this field. I started my own company, LAX HOME INC over a decade ago here in Los Angeles. We serve the Valley and LA area and specialize in pool and backyard design and construction, foundation, hardscape, retaining walls, ground-up construction, major remodeling, and ADUs. I am very passionate about construction and truly enjoy the work I do. Being able to build something and help my clients transform their living and backyard spaces into their dream spaces is truly rewarding. On top of all that, I have and continue to meet amazing people who are not only clients but have become great friends.
Aside from being a GC, I am also a real estate agent. Anything that has to do with construction and real estate truly excites me.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing valuable ever comes easy! Construction in particular is not always a smooth road; it can be messy, dirty, and unexpected things can happen along the way. For example, take the recent rains, they have been amazing in terms of water, but they also created some challenging situations for construction projects. Along the way, you will also face other challenges such as delays with permitting or material cost increases, but that is what makes the work rewarding and keeps it exciting. I have had the privilege of working with many different clients, which has been very rewarding but can sometimes have challenges. We are in people’s homes for months and emotions can be involved as they are transforming their homes, but that is why communication is very important. I am always here to help my clients understand what we are doing every step of the way and put their minds at ease. Solving problems and facing challenges head-on can be very enjoyable and has taught me a lot. It is important to have the right crew, with the right price, for the right client, at the right time and that is what has helped me overcome challenges

I like to show every step of the project, explain what is being done, and educate my clients and our other audience. I am very passionate about construction and my work and want to transfer that knowledge to others who may also be interested.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success is achieving my professional and personal goals. Starting and completing each project and having happy customers are success to me. Being able to form lasting relationships with my clients and creating a friendship and partnerships with them is success to me. Having repeat clients that trust me and give me the privilege to work with them on multiple projects is huge success for me.
Being able to do whatever it takes to lead a productive life makes you successful. When reaching for success, it is important to set realistic and concrete goals. It is believing in yourself and not getting discouraged by failures. If you set a goal, know where you are headed, and give it all you’ve got, that is success even if you don’t arrive at that destination. Along the way, you face obstacles, learn lessons, and gain experiences that will change your course and lead you to the destination you were meant to arrive at.
