Hi Max, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Breathwrk started from a personal need for a breathing app to help with sleep, anxiety, athletic performance, and energy. When I first discovered breathing exercises, it was on my therapist’s couch. After suffering with serve depression and anxiety, I was introduced to the practice that changed my life. I knew that there were so many other people who could benefit from this practice and was fortunate enough to meet my co-founder, Addie Conner, and we launched the company only two months later.
From the day we launched we knew we had something there. Hundreds of thousands of people started coming to the product, sharing it, and giving it reviews that we couldn’t even dream of. The amount of thank you’s we receive on a daily basis is what keeps us growing and working so hard.
Today Breathwrk has amassed a massive following of over 2.3 million followers on TikTok and over 800k users on our platform. We have a team of 12 strong and growing and have already raised two rounds of venture capital to continue to scale Breathwrk to the world.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
We had the obvious big obstacle that everyone faced this year, COVID. That made it hard to meet with the team and raise new funding. However, cover turned out to help the business because more people were home and looking for healthy practices to pick up. This grew out product immensely and helped us attract even more investors.
We’ve been impressed with Breathwrk Inc., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Breathwrk’s mission is to change the health of the world through breathing. Breathwrk teaches and guides people through various unique exercises that help alleviate anxiety, improve sleep, increase energy and focus, and help with sports and performance.
