Hi Luke, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Luke Chapa my wife Lisa and I own the Ventura County franchise of Bar-B-Clean . We started this business in 2015
our back ground was in Utilities where she worked for SCE and I worked for Frontier communication . We always wanted to be in business for are selves and in 2015 my wife job was outsourced and we had to find something to supplement her income . So while on a trip to Oregon I was reading a magazine and that’s how I found out about making money cleaning BBQ’s and repairing them who would have imagine . So in 2022 after 25yrs with the phone Company I was able to now spend full time with our business with day to day operations . Lisa takes care of the front office with her daughter Genelle. I take care of Field operations with are techs. We service all of Ventura County and South San Fernando Valley . We service sale and repair grills .
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a new business wasn’t a smooth road and yes many obstacles were in are way . Our Franchisee Bryan Weinstein was helpful in the start of are new franchise we had to learn on all aspects of starting a new business, insurance ,city permits ,marketing and hiring a team . I was very lucky in the beginning that I had my brother Matt and son in-law Buzz to be the first techs for Bar-B-Clean Ventura County we all learned together . Its been a journey for the last 10 years and a continued education of running a business. Today we have a great Team in place to take care of our customers my wife Lisa and I are excited for the New Year and for the future of our business .
