Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Noparvar.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road. When I started, my friends that I grew up with kept telling me to tone it down and not make so many sexual jokes about food. I sensed a lot of jealousy that I was doing something that was beyond their limits and didn’t feel supported anymore so I actually stopped hanging out with who I believed to be some of my closest friends at the time, change does that to you. It was lonely at first but now I have some of the best, most supportive friends around me that I couldn’t have made without the initial cut off. As far as creating content, it was difficult for me to learn how to take the right photos, how to edit videos, basically all the skills needed if you want to take this seriously but after a lot of messing up, it started to look better and better. Now some of my videos are getting 500,000+ views by people all over the world.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
About a year ago, I went through a bad break up and it made me really think about what I wanted my future to look like. I always pictured myself making/remodeling beautiful homes and selling them so I strapped down and figured out a way to make it possible. I was a real estate agent for three years before working as the Director of Marketing for Off the Menu so I wanted back into the game. Now we just flipped our 3rd house in Silverlake and we are currently in two more at the same time. My second business is a Food Merch company. I will be launching early 2021 and it will be huge. We will be providing restaurants, brands and influencers the ability to create their merch and sell it on their respective platforms while we handle everything else so they don’t have to lift a finger or worry about their products reaching consumers in a timely manner. We already have a few top-tier partnerships and are very excited for what the future holds.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
ABSOLUTELY! The number 1 lesson I learned is how to adapt. The businesses that took a proactive approach to changing with the times (implementing delivery, glass windows, outdoor seating, etc.) are the ones that are doing even better than their pre-covid days.
