Today we’d like to introduce you to Kara Duffy.
Hi Kara, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I had a successful career in footwear & apparel, launching brands, products, collaborations, and new regions. I started taking various personal development and training classes. In one of those classes, everyone had an idea for how to save the world or fix things, but no one knew how to make it happen. I did and it dawned on me that having the core skill of how to turn an idea into reality was a way I could help lots of people make their visions come to life. I started coaching non-profits and then quickly switched to working with small businesses. Eventually, I quit my day job and went all in. Since then, I have worked with start-ups through decade-old and multi-million dollar businesses. I’m proud to have helped women business owners break $1M in revenue (since it’s usually only 4% of owners over a million are women) and to help many of my clients quit their day jobs to become full-time entrepreneurs.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part, yes. There are always challenges in running a business and that’s part of what makes it fun and interesting. Getting a business coach of my own was a huge turning point is smoothly out a lot of the rollercoaster effects that can be part of owning a business. Everyone who has a business or freelances needs a coach and a community. It changes everything.

I was building my extraordinary life even when I was working in corporate. I traveled the world, lived abroad, worked with amazing people, and collaborated with exciting brands such as Ferrari, Wu-Tang, and Rob Dyrdek. I was intentional, even before being an entrepreneur to make sure that while I have 100% at work that I was getting 1000% back. You always deserve to be building a life that will give you a memoir you’re proud of.
