Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse Lizama.
Hi Jesse, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up on the West Side of San Bernardino, which is considered one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in America. I came from an immigrant background and had to deal with all the adjustments that people in my position have to deal with in live time. My life was based solely on the pursuit of not only an exit from my situation but a sustainable foundation from which I could build. So, I pursued my vision, sometimes doing what was necessary to make it to the next step. I was fortunate that my hard-working immigrant parents instilled a hunger that drove me to explore all options to succeed.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. When you’re raised in environments where you’re not only discouraged to pursue opportunities that can improve your life but actually introduced to a plethora of option in which to ruin it, it does blur your vision. With that being said, if you know that you can accomplish what you’ve envisioned, you learn to use what is available to you to make things happen.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are an organization that focuses on bringing an authentic experience into the world of all things gaming. We specialize in capturing the different eras that video gaming has experienced and highlight the lifestyle that comes with being a gamer. We have a passion for the entire scope of gaming because even though our niche is retro gaming, we actively support where gaming is headed. The future is bright, and it only gets brighter with videogames in it!
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always socially active, although I had a rough start. Coming from where I’m from, I had a really aggressive view of life. As time progressed and the more I was exposed to different cultures and lifestyles, I began to realize that the world was bigger than my immediate surrounding area. Then things changed, and I began making connections that, if I’m honest, led to my progress in successfully building the business that I now operate.
