Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Webster Sciarrino
Hi Jennifer, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in a very small town in New Hampshire and moved to NYC shortly after graduation from the University of New Hampshire at the end of 1999.
My first role in entertainment was as an executive assistant to Larry Rudolph, a partner at the successful entertainment law firm Rudolph & Beer. At the time, Larry had recently begun co-managing Britney Spears alongside Johnny Wright. The month I started, Britney was up for Best New Artist at the Grammys—it was the very beginning of her meteoric rise.
Being close in age and coming from small-town backgrounds, Britney and I instantly connected and had many similar interests. Our relationship definitely had a friendship quality to it and it was such a fun time for all of us in the early years. As her career skyrocketed, Larry was supportive of expanding my role quickly, evolving from an assistant to one of her day-to-day managers. This new position brought with it extensive travel, time on set, and long hours. It was an intense time but such an invaluable learning experience.
In late 2004, Britney asked me to work for her directly and she wanted her management team to be based in Los Angeles, which is what brought me to the west coast. I continued in that role until 2006, when we parted ways professionally.
By 2007, I reconnected with Phil McIntyre, one of the co-managers of the Jonas Brothers, and joined their management team just as their careers were about to explode. When I came on board, the Jonas Brothers were on tour opening for Miley Cyrus, experiencing a similar rapid career growth as I had experienced working for Britney. The management company also signed Demi Lovato shortly after, right before Camp Rock was released.
I was one of the first hires at the company, and as we grew, so did my responsibilities. My role evolved into overseeing the day-to-day managers at the Jonas Group, as well as leading all hair, makeup, grooming, and wardrobe bookings for the talent.
By 2011, I felt that artist management was no longer the right fit for me at the stage of life that I was in. My son had turned 4, and I felt ready to follow my entrepreneurial dreams and build something of my own. Given my background working with high-profile artists and talent teams, stepping into the beauty agency world was a natural next step—and that’s when Dew Beauty was born.
Dew Beauty is an agency representing celebrity hairstylists and makeup artists, and we’ve also worked with wardrobe stylists over the years. This September, we’ll celebrate 14 years in business—something I’m incredibly proud of. I’m excited for all that’s ahead as we continue to grow and evolve.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not! (Laughs) Yet, every struggle has been a lesson that’s pushed us forward. There have been five major turning points for us.
The first came just a week before launching the agency. My business partner and I had already left our jobs, and we were set to sign a well-known celebrity makeup artist who would bring instant credibility (and bookings and income) to the agency. Then, at what we thought was our final strategy lunch, he told us he’d changed his mind. It felt devastating, but it only strengthened our determination. The early years moved slower than expected, but that foundation allowed us to build something truly solid.
The second challenge came a year and half in when we signed a seasoned hairstylist whose portfolio needed a refresh. We helped rebuild it, landed great opportunities, and after a year, he left to sign with a larger agency. It was a reminder that while people can come and go, our commitment to our artists never wavers.
Seven years in, our third big struggle hit when a celebrity client – who accounted for a major portion of revenue – had to clear their schedule indefinitely due to health issues. It was tough financial and emotionally, especially for the artist who worked so closely with them.
Then came the pandemic, which turned everything upside down on a global scale, followed by the industry strikes in 2023. Both forced us to adapt in ways we never expected.
Through it all, one of our biggest learning lessons has been that our challenges don’t define us – our response to them does. And every setback has only made us stronger.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Dew Beauty Agency is a boutique talent agency representing celebrity hair stylists and makeup artists. We specialize in securing high-level bookings for our artists across red carpet, editorial, commercial, music videos, performances, tour, campaign shoots & brand partnerships. We keep our roster small to give everyone an individual, personal and goal specific focus. We believe in meaningful, aligned partnerships between talent and clients, seamless experiences and elevated artistry. We prioritize professionalism, collaboration, an uplifting spirit, and championing the unique creative vision of each artist we represent. We believe in leading through kindness, respect and compassion. What sets us apart from others is our unique background in coming from the artist management world. We have spent years with celebrity talent & glam teams in the glam room seeing firsthand the magic, encouragement and support that is made in those rooms. We have been the ones booking glam for celebrity clients with other agencies. We have firsthand experience in knowing what brands, labels, studios, publicists, managers, and celebrity clients prefer and don’t prefer when dealing with glam teams and glam agents. We are most proud of the evolution of the artists we represent and helping them to fulfill their dreams. We have a deep love and respect for the beauty community and are so proud of the artists we represent.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most people don’t know that I didn’t initially set out to work in the beauty industry or talent representation. My background was in hospitality management and it wasn’t until a close friend, Dan Dymtrow, connected me with Larry Rudolph & Britney Spears that I found my way into this space. It’s a reminder that life redirects you exactly where you’re meant to be.
