Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Englander.
Hi Jeff, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I went to culinary school straight out of high school in Phoenix, where I’m originally from. After working in restaurants for five years, I returned to school at Arizona State University, where I completed a double major in Data Analytics and Sports Business. A few years ago, I started hosting sushi dinners with friends and realized I could turn this passion into a business, bringing curated sushi experiences to clients’ homes and businesses. I officially launched my business in April 2025 and have been creating interactive and memorable sushi events ever since.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t always been smooth. Turning casual sushi dinners with friends into a professional business came with a lot of learning curves, from sourcing the best ingredients to creating a seamless experience for clients. But each challenge has been a lesson, and seeing people enjoy a curated sushi event makes all the effort worthwhile.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Bluefin Catering and Events?
My business brings interactive, personalized sushi experiences directly to clients’ homes and businesses. We specialize in curated sushi dinners, chef’s tasting events, and Omakase experiences where guests are treated to a carefully crafted, multi-course meal showcasing the freshest ingredients and seasonal flavors.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just serve sushi, I create an unforgettable experience. Each event is designed to be engaging, educational, and beautifully presented, giving guests a chance to connect over the art of sushi.
I’m most proud of building a brand known for creativity, attention to detail, and delivering a truly premium, one-of-a-kind experience. I want readers to know that whether it’s an intimate dinner, corporate gathering, or special celebration, we transform every event into a memorable culinary journey that’s as interactive as it is delicious.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I’d love your readers to know that sushi isn’t just about food. It’s about connection, creativity, and the experience. My goal is to make every event interactive, fun, and memorable, whether guests are trying Omakase for the first time or are longtime sushi lovers. I believe that bringing people together over a thoughtfully prepared meal creates lasting memories, and I’m excited to share that passion with the Southern California community.
