Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazelle Morales
Hi Jazelle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Jazelle Morales, a proud representative of the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California, has immersed herself in the beauty industry for over a decade. Her journey began in middle school, where a remarkable drama teacher, coincidentally also Leonardo DiCaprio’s former mentor, ignited her passion for entertainment. This inspiring teacher, who retired after shaping young minds, led Jazelle’s path towards the captivating world of beauty and creativity.
In those early years, Jazelle’s drama class embarked on unique adventures, filming on set for Nickelodeon’s Friday after-school specials, with none other than the charismatic Nick Cannon as the host. This exposure to the entertainment industry left an indelible mark on Jazelle, influencing her decision to pursue a career in a field where artistry and expression intertwine.
High school brought further enchantment as her father worked at Paramount Pictures, granting Jazelle the privilege of being a regular attendee at show tapings and special events. This immersive experience solidified her connection with the enchanting world of entertainment.
Fast forward to the present day, Jazelle Morales has become a prominent makeup artist and esthetician, seamlessly blending her artistic skills with a holistic approach to beauty. As the proud founder of Love Sick Cosmetics, Jazelle’s journey is marked by collaboration with diverse models and photographers, providing a vast canvas for her boundless creativity.
Beyond the lens, Jazelle has stepped into the spotlight as a dedicated influencer, sharing her love for beauty with a broader audience. Her belief in the transformative power of makeup and skincare products drives her commitment to offering tailored guidance and product recommendations for every photoshoot. Whether behind the scenes, in front of the camera, or at Love Sick Cosmetics, Jazelle is devoted to enabling inner beauty to radiate both on set and on camera.
In her influential role, Jazelle advocates for a mindset that prioritizes mental health, recognizing the transformative power of self-care. As a beacon of strength and resilience, she encourages a philosophy where self-love is not a luxury but a necessity. Join Jazelle in embracing a world where confidence is the language spoken, and caring for oneself is the foundation for empowering oneself and others. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
However, the path to entrepreneurship proved challenging, especially amid the uncertainties of the pandemic. Starting a business during these times was not without its difficulties, as people were understandably hesitant about beauty treatments. As a hands-on professional, Jazelle had to navigate the complexities of building trust with her clients in a climate of fear and uncertainty. This presented a considerable challenge, resulting in the loss of many clients. Undeterred, Jazelle embraced the adversity and learned to forge trusted relationships with her clients anew.
Recognizing the need for change, she not only built trust but also moved locations, facing the challenge head-on. Reflecting on the experience, Jazelle acknowledges the valuable lesson learned— to establish a solid foundation and build lasting relationships, both professionally and personally. If given the chance to redo, she would have waited for a more opportune time and chosen a location where she could establish roots and grow—a philosophy she is putting into practice as she rebuilds her clientele and establishes Love Sick Cosmetics in a location where she envisions a lasting and thriving presence.
We’ve been impressed with Love Sick Cosmetics, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Birth of Love Sick Cosmetics
In 2017, the seeds of Love Sick Cosmetics were planted in Jazelle’s mind. Although not yet ready to embark on the entrepreneurial journey and armed with minimal knowledge about business, she harbored a burning desire for something of her own. Fast forward to 2021, and Love Sick Cosmetics officially came to life with the launch of its inaugural product, Love Sick Lashes. However, the market proved more competitive than anticipated, marking Jazelle’s initiation into the challenging realm of entrepreneurship. While the venture didn’t unfold as planned, it became an invaluable learning lesson—a crucial chapter in Jazelle’s journey that taught her resilience, the importance of preparation, and the indomitable spirit required to navigate the complexities of the business world. This initial setback fueled Jazelle’s determination, emphasizing the need to persevere and approach future endeavors with greater readiness.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Walking home from high school, I often passed by a place called “Joe Blasco” in Los Feliz, a Makeup Academy that I dreamed of attending. However, my mother was against the idea. Despite graduating from high school and enrolling in community college, she feared I would become a beauty school dropout. Fast forward to 2024, and my mother is now proud of the choices I’ve made. Jazelle didn’t give up on her dreams, and her resilience continues to drive her forward, looking towards a bright future.
