Hi Iris Esmeralda, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up as a first-generation Salvadorean/American lesbian woman. I received a lot of pressure from my parents to get a “Real Job”, since my passion was make up artistry. I pursued this creative business seven years ago as a freelancer, I have worked in production, bridal makeup, editorial photoshoots, etc. I decided to then continue my education.
As I earn My B.A. in Psychology to learn more about our brain and healing trauma. I then resumed to my M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy, Specializing in Latinx Studies. This was an amazing opportunity to do my own healing with a therapist, which allowed me to process trauma and more. I was able to real-eyes my triggers, my limiting beliefs and start being my true authentic self and coming out of the closet as a Lesbian. My name is Iris, as part of our eyes, my intention is for you to feel seen and acknowledged no matter how you identify.
I have been a Psychotherapist, AMFT for six years for a community-based non-profit organization. This has taught me to hold space for others and guide so many clients through their Mental Health Healing journey. It has been such an honor to hold space for my homelessness community and so many more. As I was working as a therapist, Through my own mental health and spiritual healing it has guide me through many opportunities of growth. This has made me who I am now.
As I then begin my spiritual journey four years ago, I realized that there is more than just the western therapeutic approach, seeing my spiritual mentor. She is a psychic medium, a shadow worker, and a Reiki Master. She has guided me to step into my truth, in finding my Passion, Path, Purpose and Power, as an Intuitive Reiki Master, A Sound Healer and a Metaphysical Make Up Artist. I am here to connect with those who are ready to heal internally and/or externally through Reiki, Sound Healing, and Metaphysical Make Up. This glam is an intuitive session, it consists of a mindfulness meditation, breathing, energy work, as I align your chakras, incorporate crystal healing and enhance your beauty through make up.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any journey, there are ups and downs. I try my best to see everything as an opportunity of growth. I always remind myself that I am a forever student and to simply trust that the universe has my back. Even when one door closes another will open. I am simply being guided to where I am meant to be.
