Hidden Gems: Meet Ilona Selina of Route Marketing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ilona Selina.

Hi Ilona, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Born in Ukraine, raised in Europe, and polished in New York, I’ve always had a keen eye for aesthetics and a passion for photography, social media marketing, and all things influencer-related. I even started my own lifestyle blog in high school, taking inspiration from the OG bloggers of the time.

Fast forward to today, I’ve become a seasoned social media and influencer marketing manager, having worked with top talent boasting 10M+ followers and even organizing extravagant influencer trips to St. Barts. But my experience in a boutique agency in LA opened my eyes to the potential of working with a variety of brands at the same time, which ultimately inspired me to start my own agency.

As a female entrepreneur myself, I wanted to create an agency that not only shares my passion for aesthetics and digital marketing but also supports female-owned businesses and startups. With a fully remote team and clients from all over the world, our global reach allows us to bring innovative ideas to clients who may not have had access to big-name agencies.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
While my career in digital marketing has certainly had its highlights, I’ve also faced my fair share of challenges. As an agency owner, managing demanding clients can be a constant balancing act, as their expectations are high and deadlines are often tight.

Managing a fully remote team has also been a learning curve, as it requires a different set of skills than leading an in-person team. Communication is key, but so is finding the right people to join the team and build the future of our agency. It’s a constant process of trial and error, but ultimately, it’s worth it to see our clients’ brands thrive.

We’ve been impressed with Route Marketing, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
