Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Monique Lafler.
Hi Gina Monique, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My Little Beautique began eight years ago with a simple but powerful mission: to build a home for talented beauty professionals and create a space where our community could come to feel confident, beautiful, and cared for. As a mom of two, I’ve been balancing the hustle of entrepreneurship with the chaos and joy of motherhood proof that passion and purpose can coexist.
It all started in one cozy room with four amazing lash artists and a whole lot of heart. What could’ve been just a small side project quickly turned into something so much bigger. Today, Beautique has grown into a vibrant full service salon with over 20 incredible professionals who bring their artistry and energy to everything they do.
From nails and skincare to permanent makeup, threading, waxing, lash lifts, and brow laminations we’ve become a one stop destination for beauty, trusted by our community and driven by connection.
But our story isn’t just about services. It’s about people. When a beloved local business suddenly shut its doors, we stepped in to offer the displaced artists a fresh start. That spirit of support and resilience still runs through everything we do.
My Little Beautique is more than a salon. It’s a place where professionals grow, where creativity thrives, and where every client feels seen, celebrated, and at home.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come and even more excited for what’s ahead. My Little Beautique is built on community, creativity, and care, and we’re just getting started.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our major challenge was during covid. We had to close 18 days after moving to our bigger location which naturally came with bigger bills. A huge part of that was not just the salon bills but all of the women that work in the salons lively hood. When we are open and face slow times we are able to adjust and help the team figure out how to bring in clients but when we are not even able to be in the salon it is hard to just sit and watch them struggle. Once we were able to open, the restrictions were a huge burden and constantly changed between what our state board required and what the public health required which made things confusing. Now that we are on the other side of that we can say we did learn some things that we now can utilize in our daily business. Another “bump in the road” that we have had has actually been a blessing in disguise. Finding people that are a right fit for the salon and learning as we grow how to navigate that.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our salon is made up of an incredible collective of licensed professionals who each have their own specialties. We have a wide range of options for clients. Everything from nail services, massage, facials, permanent makeup, hair removal, lash and brow services plus more. I think this is a big reason that sets us apart from other salons in the area. As well as the fact that everyone that is involved in the salon is passionate about the services they provide. Each and everyone of the women that work at My Little Beautique have an individual style and welcoming personality that makes a fit for every client and their needs. Our owner Gina is involved with the salon daily and not just as a passive bystander like some other salons. We are proud of how much we have grown in the passed 8 years. We started with 4 lash beds and a facial room with only a few service options and we now have a nail salon, 8 rooms, and 8 lash beds.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
We define success as not just a monetary goal, that is just a plus. We have found that when you are happy with what you do your clients can feel that and then your business multiplies and the money comes naturally. Having a work life balance is the ultimate goal. From a managerial stand point providing a space that feels like “home” is a goal for us as we want everyone to be comfortable and thrive.
