Hidden Gems: Meet Gerhard Kramer of The Miller Gardens

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gerhard Kramer.

Gerhard Kramer

Hi Gerhard, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The Miller Gardens was a task of love that began with the previous two owners who leveled the land, planted 30 fruit trees, and set the stage for what has become a beautiful oasis and pathways to enjoy and gather with nature and numerous birds.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We purchased this property in 2021 after our friends decided to retire and move to Ohio. We have spent the last 2 1/2 years reshaping and focusing on creating spaces for relaxing and reflecting. We have brought in at least eight large truckloads of mulch and compost to add and enrich the soil for smaller flowering plants to thrive underneath and around the large property.

We’ve been impressed with The Miller Gardens, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Miller Gardens, located in Rancho Cucamonga, California, is an outdoor garden venue and short-term stay.

A hidden gem in Rancho Cucamonga, open for you to discover! Our flexible spaces can be transformed to create your dream relaxation, ensuring that your time here is truly one-of-a-kind. Stroll through our garden pathways and sit on our lawns. Decorate the gazebo and pergolas under our large shade trees to make your dreams come true.”

From a recent Google Review: We utilized The Miller Gardens venue for my daughter’s baby shower, and it was perfect. Very beautiful and spacious, and they work with you and your needs. The venue has access to whatever services you are looking for: DJ, Bartending, photobooth, etc., which was very convenient. Once you book your event, they provide a portal that keeps you organized and on task. I would highly recommend this venue. Excellent customer service.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I worked in advertising at the Los Angeles Times. I worked there for 24 years. I took a risk to leave the corporate world and began a small niche online jewelry business in 2007. After the stock market crash of 2008, our small online business folded. I spent some time contemplating my next steps and ultimately began working for the Los Angeles Newsgroup. I left there to begin a new venture, Church Job Fairs, where we hosted job fairs in churches and expanded that to 19 states until Covid shut down the ability for people to gather. So I am a risk taker and serial entrepreneur that has always landed on my feet.

The Miller Gardens is where I was married when the previous owners, our friends, opened their home to us, and an idea of a possible venue sparked.
