Today we’d like to introduce you to Gary Quinn.
Gary, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
At a young age, I started training with two top Olympic coaches to become an Olympic swimmer. My sports career was a steppingstone that led me to a unique opportunity working in the entertainment industry. I was working 1 on 1 as a personal manager with many successful actors, writers, and directors, but in reality, I was already life coaching them by helping them to gain confidence and let go of anything that was blocking them from being successful. I grew so rapidly as a skilled, intuitive life coach strategist that I quickly left behind that part of the entertainment world and wrote my first book. My book tour took me to 3 countries and 37 cities around the United States and allowed me to build international relationships and connections which I maintain to this day. My life coaching career accelerated into worldwide speaking engagements, as well as life coaching for individuals to help them create strategies to achieve their personal success. I have had the privilege of working with Olympic athletes, academy award winners, and CEOs of top industries around the world.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The publisher for my first book wanted a second book that was very similar to my first one, and I refused because I knew I needed to keep growing and not regurgitate the same information. I ended up going three and a half years without a book publishing deal until finally I made a deal with a publisher in London. Even after getting the deal, I started having thoughts about ending my career as a life coach and doing something else. I was en route to a venue where I was going to give a talk about my second book, but I was still in doubt about my career path. I demanded for the Universe to give me a sign that I should continue my career. When I arrived at the venue, the promoter said that there were only 30 people in the audience in a room that seats 300. I asked the Universe for a sign that I should continue doing this, and then I went backstage and meditated. I went back to the stage to get ready, and suddenly there were more than 200 people there. By the end of the day, the room was full. In the end, I didn’t even speak about my book, because I started talking about action, confidence, and believing in yourself no matter what. I heard people in the audience crying during my talk, and after the event was over people came up to me and bought signed books. Everybody who bought books was telling me how empowered they felt and how much I had helped them. After the audience had left, the promoter and his staff formed a circle of gratitude around me and shared with me what they had seen that night. They told me that they had seen a real transformation in the members of the audience. They also said that despite hosting a wide variety of accomplished self-help authors in this venue, no one else had made the audience as emotional as I had. That was my sign, and after that, I burst into the life coaching scene and started getting booked for talks all over the world in Ireland, Wales, Switzerland, Japan, Germany, and Italy. Instead of having a breakdown, I had a breakthrough. And that’s something I currently teach. There are ups and downs that happen in one’s life, and you have to break through and trust the process. Don’t look at your circumstances as challenges, look at them as learning experiences. While I was still growing my career, I started booking TV and event appearances. Often when I sent my book to the producers of these shows and events, they wouldn’t respond to me at first. However, my confidence and positivity manifested a different reality. I had just been turned down for a spot on the biggest morning show in Italy, and then suddenly I got a call from the producer. He said that one night when he couldn’t sleep, my book literally fell out of his bookshelf. He picked it up, read it, and immediately booked me for two of the biggest morning television shows in Rome. This happened in London too, where an important producer discovered me after my book fell out of a bookshelf in front of him. There are many signs that each of us have in our lives, and the key to success is to pay attention to these important, life-changing signs.
We’ve been impressed with Gary Quinn, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am an international motivational speaker, life coach, strategist, and best-selling author. I write my books with the intention of helping people who are seeking to improve their personal lives, succeed in business, and find balance. I founded my Touchstone for Life Coaching Program® in order to help individuals create a blueprint for their success and personal development. I hold seminars, workshops, and keynotes around the world. I have always enjoyed working with people from different cultures and empowering them to become their authentic selves. I’ve held seminars in Switzerland, England, Japan, Italy, Germany, Canada, Ireland, Mexico, Costa Rica, Romania, and Australia. I wish to extend all aspects of my coaching to an international community, so I often have my books published in other countries and languages. My books offer readers simple yet effective methods to empower themselves and create the lives they desire. My newest book, “Be Your Own Business Guru: A Balanced Path to Well-Being, Success, and Happiness”, will be available to the public on January 15th, 2023. This book is a comprehensive guide to creating balance and awareness in your business or career from a practical yet spiritual perspective. I wanted to give readers a personal guidebook dedicated to helping them restore balance to their lives and bring their most authentic self to the workplace. I have also just released a 44-card deck as a companion to my new book. Each inspirational card offers a concise, invaluable plan of action that you can use to improve all aspects of your daily life.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Los Angeles offers a diverse cultural melting pot of ideas. It is a creative city of dreams, and it is aptly named “The City of Angels.” I am proud to live in the entertainment capital of the world which has become “The City of Dreams” for people from all walks of life. If I had to describe this city in one sentence, I would say, “It is a place where anything is possible.” My only complaint is that the traffic here can sometimes be very overwhelming and stressful. We need to devote more of our infrastructure to creating accessible and efficient public transportation.
