Today we’d like to introduce you to Francesca Grace.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
A few things led me to where I am today. I started off in the interior design world by studying fashion design. I began doing the design work on my dad’s restaurants and transforming them into something special. I loved the creativity and freedom this allowed me. I started working for a staging company and realized I wanted to start my own business where I could design freely and openly without limitations. This became the start of Francesca Grace Home.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting my own business and getting things off the ground was definitely a struggle in the beginning. I started out in the basement of my house and moved into a warehouse with no electricity and cockroaches. Later on, after putting in the work, I was finally able to upgrade my office to a modern and comfortable space with working AC and electricity, and this has been one of my greatest accomplishments as a business owner. Another struggle that continues to present itself is the fact that I am a 26-year-old woman in a male-dominated business. I have been told that I’m too young to know what I’m doing or that I lack decades of experience in the field. I continue to work hard, persevere, and prove the naysayers wrong, which will only make me stronger.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I own and run Francesca Grace Home, a staging and interior design company. My passion for design and wanting to stand out in the staging world has really jump started my career. Prior to owning my own business, I worked at a staging company, where I was able to truly identify the ways I wanted to be different and unique and make a name for myself. Now, our clients come to us for something special that will often push the limits of design. Whether it’s the agents that hire us for a staging project to make their home sell faster, or an interior design project for a specific client, I’m always looking for ways to push boundaries and create a vision that is unique to our brand. Although I started my company with staging homes, the interior design side rapidly sprouted from my staging work and has now become a big part of the company.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
One of the most surprising and interesting facts about me is that I have five chickens that I love as my children. Other than that, people always find it surprising that I’m only 26 years old and that I’m half Italian.
