Hidden Gems: Meet Felix Vazquez of JR’s Creation

Today we’d like to introduce you to Felix Vazquez.

Felix Vazquez

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my business by just helping my family members out; I did my first major event at my cousin’s wedding in 2007. It was my first big event where I helped plan and coordinate the full event and that just opened Multiple doors in creating and planning events for other family members.

In 2017, I focused more on my business and taking it more serious and getting more clients that were not my close family members and more from word of mouth and getting clients for all type of events for weddings to quinceañeras and small gatherings.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I feel like in this industry, it has always gets hard at times because events evolve and change with different themes and styles. It’s been a struggle because I have tried a bit of everything in the event industry.

I have done baking, balloons, and decorating, but I feel like I have finally found my niche.

As you know, we’re big fans of JR’s Creation. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is helping couples and families feel more at ease and stress-free with their events. I love to create events and make sure they feel special for that one day. When a lot of event planners may charge for the smaller things like extra hours for the day or just taking texts messages to answer simple questions, I feel and know that I am always there for my clients.

I know how it feels to have random questions and may need answers instantly and not be answered in 48-72 hours.

I always put my clients first and their needs,

And I try to focus on the client that I have for that week at least 2 weeks prior they have my full attention.

My offerings are day of coordinating and event planning & styling.

Day of coordinating consists of event management, so making sure all the vendors arrive and know where they need to place everything they are bringing, answering any questions, and being the direct contact for all vendors.

Planning is basically finding all vendors for my clients and creating this event from scratch for my clients.

I’ve also dabbled in some social media content and creating some videos for businesses as a choreographer and helping and assisting my husband, who’s a photographer/videographer.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was going to Mexico to visit my grandma and staying there for weeks. Also, to be surrounded by family. Family events, birthdays, and celebrations which is where I get my passion for event planning and decorating. I always was one to help set up or decorate the majority of birthday since I can recall.
