Today we’d like to introduce you to Elle Anzalone.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My vision for a private practice was from my personal experience of the cold and unfriendly ambiance at most mental health providers. I wanted to design something that felt warm and welcoming plus introduce other concepts to wellness that might feel out of place in your typical Healthcare environment.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our business is the business of uncomfortable conversations and uncomfortable feelings… And if you ask anyone who’s in the field of mental health they will assure you they’re not in it for the money. All of this is to say that having a private practice and having talented clinicians and providing a space for local folks to deal with the intensity of their day to day lives is not a big money maker. These statements aren’t to discourage however it is to stress the importance of the mission that we have. it speaks to the desire and the passion our collective embodies to commit to people to help change their lives
We’ve been impressed with Elemental Wellness , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Elemental wellness is a therapeutic collective. We offer a variety of clinicians that specialize in varied scopes and belief systems. We offer therapists trained and certified in EMDR, Massage, Trauma focused body work, hypnosis, moral injury and cptsd education for veterans, clinical supervision, and substance and codependency counseling.
We are also a wellspring of resources and referrals.
What does success mean to you?
When I first got into this field few decades ago my version of success was trying to maintain a full school load and work 2 jobs. It felt so frenzied in grad school- then the subsequent supervision and endless education-yet every position I acquired since felt even higher stakes. I was watching the healthcare system of mental health and substance abuse and overall wellness turned into what appeared to be luxury services instead of what I believed it was which is true happiness and feeling connected to your community. In this way success for me is having a private practice that I am proud of. It is having a team of talented clinicians that I trust and am Inspired by. This supports my ultimate belief that if you are able to help others you should.
