Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Andrews.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Real estate is in my blood. I started my journey working alongside my father at The Andrews Group, our family’s commercial real estate firm. We focused on everything from retail centers to mixed-use developments — and those early years gave me a deep understanding of how deals get done, how buildings come to life, and how important timing and relationships are in this business.
As the market evolved, so did I. I became obsessed with what’s next — how design, smart systems, and global materials were shaping the future of real estate. That’s what led me to DASH212. We don’t just react to trends — we anticipate where the market is headed. As GM of the U.S. division, I focus on sourcing high-margin opportunities, building homes that are smarter and more efficient, and creating timeless spaces using clean lines, international finishes, and intentional design.
I’ve gone from negotiating leases and entitlements to leading ground-up developments in some of California’s most competitive markets. It’s been an exciting ride — and with expansion beyond California on the horizon, we’re just getting started.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
California’s been home my entire life, and I’ve worked in real estate here for years — but even with that experience, the road has definitely had its challenges.
One of the biggest was shifting from my background in commercial into a more residential-focused model at DASH212. While we still do select commercial projects, our core is high-impact residential — and that world moves fast. Buyers are emotional, timelines are tighter, and the design expectations are higher. I had to rewire how I approached every deal, from land acquisition to build strategy.
Layer that with California’s regulations — zoning, environmental rules, permitting delays — and it’s a daily exercise in creative problem-solving. There were definitely moments early on where deals got tangled in red tape, or market conditions flipped mid-build. But that’s the edge we’ve built at DASH212 — we know how to navigate the chaos, stay agile, and still deliver a product that stands out.
It’s been anything but smooth. But those obstacles are exactly what sharpened our edge — and they’ve made every win that much more meaningful.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
DASH212 is a future-forward real estate development company that specializes in high-end residential projects across California — with selective commercial developments in strategic locations. We focus on finding and creating the highest-margin opportunities before the rest of the market catches on.
What sets us apart is our strategy: we combine deep local knowledge with global design inspiration, AI-powered data, and a relentless drive to move faster and smarter than traditional developers. We’re known for building luxury homes that feel custom — clean lines, smart layouts, high-end finishes — but at a speed and scale that defies the norm.
We’re proud to be ahead of the curve. While others are waiting for trends to show up in the data, we’re already building in those zones. We use tech, zoning analysis, and migration trends to predict where demand is going — and we build for that future.
From boutique multi-family developments to showstopping single-family flips, our work is rooted in quality, intentionality, and return on investment. But beyond the numbers, we’re building a brand people trust. Whether it’s a buyer, a partner, or an investor — they know when it’s DASH212, the product will be beautiful, functional, and smart from every angle.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that speed alone isn’t enough — precision matters more. In real estate, especially in California, you can’t just move fast. You have to move with purpose, backed by data, vision, and the right team.
Early on, I thought hustling harder would solve every problem. But the truth is, timing, alignment, and execution matter just as much as ambition. You can buy the right property at the wrong time, or rush into a project without the right structure, and it’ll cost you.
At DASH212, we’ve built a culture around moving fast — but only after doing the work. We study the zoning. We forecast demand. We think about design from day one. That balance between speed and strategy has made all the difference.
It’s also taught me that people are everything. The right architect, contractor, partner — they can make or break a deal. So I’ve learned to choose wisely, stay humble, and never stop learning.
