Today we’d like to introduce you to Cydney Martinez

Hi Cydney, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I knew from a very young age i wanted to be an entrepreneur like my mom. Ive always had a passion for Beauty. Anything beauty! hair, makeup you name it. Eventually after high-school I enrolled in cosmetology at El Camino community College. This is where the journey really took off. My sweet parents made me a studio in the Garage, and this is where I stared to build my clientele. I graduated and got licensed in 2016. I loved cosmetology school, I encourage anyone to go if it’s your passion. I moved around a to few salons as the years passed, then with the pandemic, things got a little grim. With a little patience and diligence, I am proud to now be the owner of Kindred Beauty bar salon suites. Specializing is skincare. I also own a hair extension line named Kindred Luxury extensions, where you can purchase here at Kindredluxuryextentions.com. It has been a long journey, and Im so excited to continue servicing my community. I want to Thank my loving husband John Martinez for being an amazing support as well as my parents. I wouldn’t be here without them. I encourage all to follow your passion, with patience and diligence you will surprise yourself what you can accomplish.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The pandemic was a problem for me and for everyone. One thing i Learned in business, Is the importance of keeping clean books. Get organized, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. There’s alot of resources for small businesses. The SBA helped ALOT. I am grateful.
