Hidden Gems: Meet Courtney Lopez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Lopez.

Courtney Lopez

Hi Courtney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I came to LA for what was supposed to be a 6-month creative internship, but it instantly felt like home, and I never left. I fell into and have worked in the digital marketing space for about ten years now, but I started West of Fairfax in 2018 with two partners on a bit of a whim. Six years later, we have grown into a full-service digital marketing agency with a roster of alumni and current clients such as Selena Gomez, Bliss, COOLA, Cincoro Tequila, and many others.

I like to describe our agency as having all the sophistication of a large agency with all of the client hospitality of a boutique agency. I always knew that at some point, we would need a strategic partner to help us take the next step as an agency, and recently, we were thrilled to announce that West of Fairfax joined the N6 family. Through the acquisition, our team has continued to offer its thoughtful strategy and innovative storytelling approach while elevating the company to new heights with our expanded resources and a much broader offering of services.

The last six months have been the most exciting ones in our agency’s history. We are steadily growing a client roster that we couldn’t be more proud of, alongside a team of females who blow me away daily.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has anyone who’s ever started their own company had a smooth road?! If so, I have many questions for them. This has been the most rewarding experience of my life, but it has come with internal and external challenges at every turn. The internal challenge looked like facing and confronting imposter syndrome in myself. The external challenge came in many forms, but the pandemic was a very concerning fork in the road. Would our clients double down on their digital footprint or pull resources from third-party agencies? We experienced both reduced and increased budgets with our clients, but thankfully, we made it through and have seen the most growth we’ve ever seen in the last year.

We’ve been impressed with West of Fairfax, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a female-led agency, we bring a unique perspective, infusing every project with creativity, innovation, compassion, and a deep understanding of our clients’ needs. We specialize in content creation, platform management, platform strategy, data + reporting, influencer programming, and paid social advertising.

What makes our work unique is our relationship with each client and the care and dedication our team gives to bringing their vision to life. Our clients aren’t just numbers; they are a part of our extended community that we pride ourselves on serving with excellence daily.

When partnering with West of Fairfax, a client isn’t just gaining a service provider—they are gaining a dedicated partner committed to propelling their brand to new heights of success. That’s why personalized attention isn’t just a promise—it’s our standard.

In an industry often driven by intuition, we rely on data-driven insights to navigate the ever-evolving digital landscape. By leveraging the power of data, we anticipate trends and craft strategies that deliver measurable results, ensuring our clients remain ahead of the curve.

Any big plans?
In this season of my life, after having my first company acquired, the thing that energizes me is seeing other women win. The first wave is seeing our current team of girls continue to grow and take strides in their careers. The other is to widen the path for other female entrepreneurs, creatives, and leaders. I want to focus on ways to create IRL community and spaces to have necessary conversations around starting, building and leading companies. We have a few things up our sleeves to foster community, curiosity, and conversation between female leaders and to share resources, knowledge, and our hard-earned wisdom. All of this will be happening alongside us, continuing to serve our clients, grow our roster, and expand our offerings!
