Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudia Contreras.
Hi Claudia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Sonora, Mexico and came to the US when I was five years old. I always loved education. I am the only member in my family to go to college. I graduated from UCSB with a BA in Communication Studies. My escrow career spans over 20 years. My passion for my career and for education go hand in hand. My escrow company is located in the City of Downey.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The real estate industry is very challenging. Overcoming the market crash. High-interest rates. Low inventory. I have to adapt to the market.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I never stopped working during covid. I myself had covid three times. It taught me health comes first. It taught me compassion, kindness and patience. So many of my clients lost loved ones. Some were forced to sell their homes. We put the customer first each and every time.
